Cloudy and ruby with medium opacity. Earthy nose of mushroom, cherry and blue fruits, candy and green elements. Medium acidity and soft silky full tannins were the structural elements that paired with sweet red fruit that preferred the mid-palate. Lingering fruit finish. Very nice.

I like aged wines, but I think this is not in shape anymore. I would drink now or in the next few months. What is left is a very mature pinot from hot climate, where alcohol is high and felt in the aftertaste. The fruit and acidity have succumbed to the alcohol and hot climate. Unfort this has lost its balance, it must have been a better wine in the early years. Bottle from professional storage in perfect conditions.

Subsequent notes on this wine from three years ago. Dark ruby red in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, strawberries & blueberries with overtones of spice notes & floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty, minerals, cherry-cola & a hint of oak/vanilla. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, earthy, some cherry-cola notes, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 12 years of age, it is at or near its peak of development, so drink up!

Super aromatic nose just loaded with pot-pourri, freshly juiced cherries, raspberry and spice/cherry cola/Dr Pepper. Full bodied adn mouth-filling without being heavy. Loaded with sweet cherry/cola flavors, spice and blood orange. This has tangy acidity and enough gentle tannin on the finish to pair nicely with salmon atop a bed of Mediterranean chick peas and kale. Absolutely delicious and in a great place right now. Drink now-2024 92

If there was ever a wine that overtly benefited from another year or two of age, this must be it, as all of the jumbledness of my past notes seems to have given way to a very present, slightly aged tasting, saturated red fruit Pinot.

A basket of red and black fruits with hints of flowers and warm earth is immediately wafting from the glas. Though broadshouldered and fullbodied (14.5 % ABV) it maintains focus, precision and freshness. Juicy with good lenght and a lingering finish.

Riper than usual for this bottling with alcohol at 14.6%. Luscious mix of fruit with some sweet oak on the end. A little different than the Rincon's of the earlier vintages but spectacularly made nonetheless.

The color is a bit dark for a burgundian pinot but is not unusual for California. What is impressive about this wine is its fruit (loaded with a full mouth of cherries, blackberries, etc.) smoothness and uniformity from initial sip to lingering finish which adds a note of chocolate. This is one classy wine!

First Talley wine for me...won't be the last. I don't give out many scores like this, but this wine was truly memorable. Perfect texture, velvety smooth and will only get better with age.

Color is more like a napa cab but the nose is all Pinot. Beautiful mix of blackberry, plum, spice, a bit of raspberry. Medium body with excellent balance as the acidity is kept in check by the fruit and tannins. I only mention because in a few years want to see if more layers evolve. Finish is 30 seconds and pushes you back for another glass.

Decanted 4 hrs and paired with grilled lobster paella. Similar to my previous bottle. Powerful and forward currently, though a wonderfully complete pinot that should really shine after another 5 years in the cellar. Concentration, depth, richness, power, lively acidity, complexity, tension, structure,... it is all there. A great vintage for Talley pinots.

The nose shows a bit more angular than the '10 Estate Pinot, but still rather dark and powerful. This definitely gives a more structured approach than the basic with ripe fruit, feral spice and mineral on medium/+ acid. Oak is really played back here too, with just a little kernel showing on the palate. Great candidate for the cellar.

Planted in '82. A horseshoe shaped vineyard. West side is Pinot, East is Chardonnay. And that is how it works. And the palate and fruit character is where you feel the uptake versus the "basic" Pinot. so I would guess some barrel selection going on here as well.

Deep red in color. Raspberry and orange rind on the nose. Vivacious cranberry and blood orange in the mouth, with spice and dirt. This is my first wine from Talley, and I'm impressed. Bright fruit, and nice concentration.

Right in my wheelhouse. Great concentration and depth, pure delicious fruit, great richness, just enough wood to add depth but not so much as to overpower, and very good acidity to tie it together and carry the richness with ease. Silky and compelling mouthfeel. A touch spicy on the lingering finish. Outstanding... I really connected with this wine. I like this more than the Rosemary right now... this could be amazing with a few years cellar rest.

Absolutely delicious. A wine of impeccable structure and balance. Very rich, but not at all over-powering and seemingly light on it's feet. One of the best California Pinots I've tried.

No notes taken but this was fantastic. Intense and rich yet with great elegance and precision. Cherry and rhubard with some lovely herbal and earthy elements. Good spiciness perfectly balances the rich sappy fruit. Bright and clean with excellent acidity, this is so lively across the palate. Great intensity on the med+ length finish. Elegance, balance, clarity... this has it all. Lovely stuff and bordering on sublime. I'd like a cellar full of this juice!
