I actually had two bottles left luckily. The first one was destroyed by volatile acidity. Acetone on the nose, and on one sip. Had to pour down the drain
The second bottle was All good. Heavy black olives, smell upon opening, but that blew off And the fruit started to come out. Wish we had time to decant as it was really beginning to show nicely by our last sips.

Had it two nights in a row, first night Coravin, second night open and aired. Purple in color. Big nose. Lots of concentrated character with cherries, ripe plums, red raspberry, subtle oak, impeccable crisp acidity and balance. Just enough mushroom and earth to add to the depth and complexity. Good memories as well, the winery visit was the most fun I’ve had at any winery visit ever!

Deep color. This was a terrific mix of mature fruit and earth , acidity and spices. A really nice bridge of California fruit but suffiently elegant to go great with food. We had this with chicken Marsala.

Big dark red wine that opens slowly. Limited nose at first that eventually leads you to tight blackberry fruit with faint oak. This wine needs an hour to open.

Tight and unyielding upon opening. After a 1 hour slo-ox, the nose opened to reveal sweet red and dark red fruits. On the palate, this medium plus bodied wine showed an abundance or red and dark red fruits, a touch of black tea, nicely balancing acidity, and totally integrated tannins. Should hold for at least a couple of years, but let it breathe. This bottle - after aerating - was a touch better than the last two bottles a few months ago.

WOTN in a lineup of mixed wines. No one guessed it was a Pinot much less the year or it was Oisoni. Deep, lucious dark fruit with just a hint of that classic giveaway astringent Pinot grape . Long finish. Very rounded and elegant. Way to go Gary!

Pop and pour and tasted with food (hamburger and patatas brava, in case you were wondering). Deep ruby red color. Wonderful nose of flowers and crushed blackberries. Good fruit profile with an orange rind element, and a slight smoky note. Deeply layered flavors. Fruits lean towards darker blackberries with that blood orange element that makes the wine lively. Delicious. This will likely continue to hold its own with more time in the bottle but is an enjoyable wine at this stage of development.

Pinot Noir Mini-Tasting; 1/19/2019-1/26/2019: When the menu changed this wine was a last minute choice. Only a quick (10 minute) decant, but this wine needs more air! Continued to open up during dinner. Virtually identical to the previous bottle about one month ago. The final glass was a wonderfully balanced, medium plus bodied wine with lots of dark red fruits, some earthy/black tea notes, no distinctly noticeable cola, juicy acidity, soft and integrated tannins, and a really smooooooth finish. Should hold for a good couple of years.

Slo-oxed for 30 minutes but the wine continued to open during dinner, and the last glass was the best. Recommend a full 30 minute decant or slo-ox for 1 hour. Initial aromas were heavy cola and earth. Initial palate was the same, along with too high acidity. The final glass was a wonderfully balanced, medium plus bodied wine with lots of dark red fruits, some earthiness, no distinctly noticeable cola, juicy acidity, soft and integrated tannins, and a really smooooooth finish. Should hold for a good couple of years.

Lots of spice and cola notes. Took a while to open up out of the magnum and into the glass. Took the balance after initial pours and decanted and after a couple of hours the aromatics were so much better and the wine just kept improving. Plenty of life left would be my read. No rush in opening but really good now with a couple of hours of air-time...

Young but a very strong Pisoni. Virbrant dark red fruit with notes of cola. Supple and sexy in it's nose and to the taste. Medium finish. This is a young wine just entering it's window so I won't be tasting another one for at least a year. Beautiful wine

The last bottle I had was about 18 months ago so I'd think this is settling in now. Opened about one hour ago, poured to a crummy, heavy stem but it's all I got. The fruit here mixes between jammy and tart, both rich and yet with a tart savory feel. The oak still seems to shade the riper fruit with a brown spice, too. Where this bottle is starting to succeed is the acid and finish length is very good, leaning to the red and black fruits that are quite nice. Taking to a nice outdoor dinner later where I will pair this with a salmon burger and beet salad--we'll see how it evolves....man, what a stumper of a wine. The last 1/3rd of the bottle was rich and fruit forward with what seemed to be a good hit of oak, then the very last glass at room temp showed the red fruited acid, black cherry and the oak seemed integrated. Heck if I can figure it out. Based on the oak, I'd let this wine lay down or air it well. Pisoni sometimes mystifies me.

Complete accident here. Meant to pull the 2004 but alas...we robbed the cradle. WAY too young. Hasn't yet developed the usual depth of a Pisoni Estate.
Tasted at a gathering of friends. Six bottles of California Pinot placed in brown bags and labelled with names of some of the favorite movies. The favorite movies named (not mine, mind you),were Twister, Risky Business, Seven, The Usual Suspects, Moonstruck, and Princess Bride.
Notes are from the blind tasting: The Pisoni Estate was Risky Business.
This was the first wine in the tasting of the six wines and was a crowd favorite. The nose shows dark fruits and a slight citrus note. The wine offers up an inviting mix of black cherries, brown spices, with a zesty line of citrus running through it that keeps it balanced and inviting. A very tasty wine.

A little too young, but still a very luscious pinot. Aroma and taste is lots of baking spice, tobacco, smoke and cherry cola. Full bodied, high acidity, medium- tannins, long finish. A longer decant would have been better, but even just 30 minutes in the glass really helped open it up. I'd like to find a few bottles to see how this tastes in a few years. World Of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting- 3/2; 3/2/2013-3/4/2013 (Shell Beach, CA): Alluring bouquet of cherry cola, pipe tobacco, and black tea. Opulent but with fine balance on the palate, with complex layers of red and black fruit, spice and earth. Round ripe tannin and integrated acid, and a big finish. A big and bombastic wine that holds the Pinot Noir line. Should be amazing as the flavors develop.

This came to dinner and was enjoyed without a decant and I don't have any to retry today. With that said, and the recent release of the wine, I can offer that I found the wine enjoyable, better at this stage than what I can recall of the 2009. At this early stage, the oak is present, making the red and darker fruit turn a little creamy but what I recalled was a nice balance underneath. My friend picked this up at Whole Foods so for those who want to try this wine while their shipment rests, it allows for a test drive. Would have liked to have tried this again today, to form a better picture and form some idea about the drink window.
