Surprised there’s still 300+ bottles of this floating around in CT cellars; bright yellow with a green tint (like a nice Chablis); citrus, green apple, effusively floral; good extract and acidity; graceful and balanced; clearly a slow ager!!! Great for a “mere village wine”. 94

Still clear, limpid light straw. Pear, touch of quince, black pepper spice. Maybe let down a little by the slightly short finish, and lacking the complexity and depth of stronger vintages. Well done though for the year and village level. Drink now

Consistent with my previous note. Delightful nose of stone fruit with a hint of oak. The palate has good acidity with notes of lemon rind, peach, crushed wet stones and a hint of butter. Classic Meursault.

Nose of ripe peach, stone fruit and a hint of crushed stones. The palate is framed by good acidity and concentration. Again notes of ripe stone fruit but a hit of butter. Good minerality. Very pleasant.

Medium Gold color. Medium bodied with healthy acidity. Nose of stones and ripe orchard fruit. Palate is silky with flavors of orchard fruits, and salt air. Really an interesting profile. Punches above village for sure. Lingering finish. Very good. Highly recommended.

A Second London Pre-Holiday Celebration (67 Pall Mall): A great showing for this village-level Meursault, and I may have been stingy with the points. Notes of pear, stone fruit, citrus and pepper in wonderful harmony. As the wine warmed in the glass, its tart elements dissipated. Well done.

Subtil og elegant på duft. Stein, svakt smør, spice, sitrus og hint av Dr Pepper. Smooth og mineraldrevet på smak. Dette drikker bra nå. Fin balanse og pen lengde.

Light pale yellow. A nose full of fresh hazelnuts, pear and white flowers, not particularly showy, rather easygoing and mellow. In the mouth, it's also not showy, very subtle, fresh acidity, good extract, richness and freshness combined. Excellent Meursault, really laid-back and at peace with itself.

Absolutely loved this wine. Ripe apples, comphor, smokey element and even a charamel dimension back of the nose and taste. Medium acidity. Rather complex flavour profile. Just quality through and through.

PnP. Not much aroma, but a palate that is dominated by lemon and lemon crème, along with some minerality, and no evidence of oak. The acidity is solid, but not overwhelming, and it paired very nicely with lump meat crab cakes in a light cream sauce. Should hold for several years.

Oddly remarkable for the pronounced MLF notes. There's a beautiful sweet cream note to the nose that just draws you in. It doesn't have a flabby, buttery, overblown CA Chardonnay feel, there is just an elegance to it. Adequate, but not piercing acidity and a nice array of more subtle citrus and orchard fruit. There is just enough nuttiness and minerality to let you know you're in Meursault. This isn't wildly complex, but its everything that you could want from a village level wine. This drank well straight out of the bottle, but it had a young feel to it and could keep improving for several years.
Maddeningly, this was $75 at a restaurant in Beaune and I noticed that it runs for like $110 at retail in The States.

Meursault-smaking (Oslo): Litt tightere her, men kommer seg med luft. Tydelig knust stein, krydder og floral. Flott nese. Veldig fast i fisken - presis og konsentrert. Fresh og elegant. Lang finish med nydelig mineralitet. Dekker hele munnhulen.

butter and hazelnuts. silky, lovely texture. lovely balance, an underlying zing of energy and vein of minerality. So good now but I'd probably wait 1-3 years if I get more.

Another Evening of Lafon in Red and White (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Light yellow. Cleaner nose than the 2013. Bright citrus fruit, moderate wood that seemed a bit much for the concentration, less creamy than the younger wine. Good acidity, tart, short finish. This certainly doesn't have as many sharp edges as the '13, but there were aspects of it that reminded me more of Puligny than Meursault.

Tightly wound, with lemon curd, honey, and limestone, all subtle. Mineral driven on the palate. A product of the light 2011 vintage, and not better for it.

Closed nose offers little but there's enough persistence to suggest this isn't suffering mild TCA. Mineral-driven on the palate. This shows better closer to room temperature.

Belle robe jaune paille. Nez délicat sur des notes de citron et de coquillage. Bel équilibre en bouche avec une touche minérale, sur le citron et la pomme verte. Acidité bien dosée sur une finale agréable. Un vin délicat et très élégant.

Pale yellow. Mineral based nose of soda, saline, lemon, and lime. Precise and flinty with lingering sensations of rock and stone. Very cleansing and not palate tiring. Medium length to the finish.

A very pure, clean and almost airy nose of delicate lemon curd and golden apple infused with salty minerals. Good pliancy of texture even now with defined midpalate depth. Beautifully balanced.
