Wonderful nose, very Gevrey-Chambertin with blackcurrant and cherry packed in a stony minerality and earthy notes. On the palate a concentrated composition with cherry and minerality and a long finish with good complexity of herbal notes. Drinks very well now but I will try to keep my remaining bottles for another 5+ years as I sense more to come. At this point 92-94P

181115; Opened this bottle and it was even more impressive this time. Racy, clean and utterly drinkable. 181017: Coravin sample from own cellar. Red fruit towards raspberries, orange tinged, a wee bit green which is not very surprising given the vintage. Elegant, racy, high acidity, good fruit to balance but maybe this is where I found the weakest link, refreshingly lean with a decent complexity from some secondary notes. Will try again to see if the same impression lasts. Overall a very good showing. 92-94p

Burgundy Tasting at Chevalier Wines: Not too much chemical weirdness on the nose in this puppy. Quite light and elegant on the palate, but the midpalate is a lot more hollow than it should have been for a wine from this vineyard. In fact, this wine seemed to be really emaciated.

MASTER BORGOGNA AIS; 10/15/2013-6/28/2014 (HOTEL WESTIN PALACE MILANO): One of the most elegant and feminine Clos St. Jacques. Rustic wild powerful nose, very tangy, almost a taste from the barrel, so young and flashy! On the palate, strong aromas of rhubarb, great body and sweet vanilla oak. echoes of rose and geranium on the long, mouth-coating finish. Still very young, but a really nice wine.
100% diraspato.

Nose a little bit vegetal, red berries, earthy, sous-bois... Tannic and a hint of green taste...

Stunning. Haven't had great Burgundy in a while. Beautiful florals and elegant fruit. Complex and had a long finish. Wish this wasn't our last bottle.

Great nose...really great nose. Lots of bright red fruit. Wasn’t crazy about the mouth and backend. Still a tad on the austere side and a little thin.

Bruno Clair Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 3, Visit 3) (Marsannay): Served to us blind from 375 ml bottle at the domaine. Clearly Gevrey in terms of its meatiness and from an imperfectly ripe vintage. Very good balance, very god now.

Slightly stewed fruits, restrained and austere now. Needs time.

Burghound Symposium Asia - Gevrey Chambertin Clos St.Jacques 1er Cru Masterclass (Hong Kong): Darker, deeper nose than Esmonin just next to it. Lovely palate, sour cherry, plum, good structure and minerality. Very correct.

At a retailer tasting. Notes of black fruit and herbs. This was my least favorite of the 4 Bruno Clair wines that I tried. 89+ points.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with some spring flowers and dried herb aromas. Follows through on palate, with excellent spice, meatiness and density. Very Gevrey. Also a very good 2011.
