OMG #105 (Ann Arbor, MI): Pleasant and easy going. Yellow orchard fruit, with some almond. Just enough balancing acidity on the finish. Appears to be very reasonably priced.

Light gold color. Split bottle over dinner. This still has plenty of fruit in the form of apple and baked sour apple, with more chalk and ginger snap then i would prefer.

Light gold color. Drank 1+ glass over 30 minutes. I found this a bit less appealing today after the Prie. It was particularly chalky today along with more citrus pith and just some edginess. Good, but would have been better with our meal this afternoon.

crisp.tangy, for the price it is equivalent of better known and more expensive labels. should be good for 5 years plus. Not toasty as some vintage bubbles become.

Riesling and Thai food (Sen Yai Sen Lek): A small pour at a tasting. This bottle was consistent with my experiences of other bottlings from this producer. It is a lighter citrus/acid driven style. I found it a bit thin, although it was pleasant enough to sip. Unripe pear and citrus. There is a lot of minerality.

Monthly Tasting Group: A Bevy Rieslings and Thai Food (Sen Yai Sen Lek, Mpls): Small pour. This was fresh and dry, crisp with citrus. This bottle felt a little leaner and less expressive than most other bottles. I have noted that there are two different labels and capsules in my bottles. I suspect they are from different disgorgements and/or different lots which might explain some of the variability.

Family Day on the Deck (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light gold color. Drank 1+ glass over 40 minutes. This was the best example we've had of this so far. Very bright today, fresh and lively with a medium body, apple, pear, and good length. 91+ to 92pts.

Monthly Tasting Group: Whites at Monello (Monello, Mpls, MN): Medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over 45 minutes. This has such nice fruit on it, pear, lemon, bright with a very fine bead. The palate has citrus, tangerine, saline, and a very refined minerality, finishes strong.

This was so silky smooth. One of the best champagnes I've ever had. No tasting notes taken, as this is the day after. Very nice given the sub $40 price.

Drank 2 glasses over 75 minutes. Apple fruit, some chalk, light, seemed a bit sweeter than I recall. Had a different plaque de muselet than my bottles, and I wonder if this has a different dosage than the other bottles I've had.

Dinner at Acqua (Acqua Restaurant & Wine Bar, White Bear Lake, MN): Pale gold color. Drank 2 glasses over an hour plus. I was quite pleased with this little number. Very solid, and I'm glad I have a stash of them. The nose has a lot of green apple, nutty, almond, yeasty, minerals. The palate is medium bodied, nice crispness, green apple, pear, almond, yeasty, slightly chalky minerality. Good length and quite bright. Drinks well already.

Lots of Syrahs - Nate M visits Cleveland (A Restaurant Downtown): A nice opening wine. Light golden in color. Lots of small bubbles. The nose has a nice ginger component along with almond and a bit of yeast. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. Ever so slightly sweet with nice chalkiness. More on the elegant side. Food friendly (duh).

Light and lively with fresh acidity. This Champagne is definitely made in a lighter crisp style. It is young and lively with elegance and finesse. Great buy if you can find it.

89-91: really young, tight, crisp bubbly that has intensity and sharpness (in a good way). Excellent with food, will hope the next bottle shows some improvement as I think this sparkler is an infant.

Fresh and crisp, delivering fresh aromas of baked apples, pear, lemon zest, floral and sulfur. Well-rounded with nice snap and a nice mineral character on the finish. This Cuvée is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.
