A year ago I thought on downside. Today from 375 is fantastic. Bottle variation? I was wrong and it wasn't ready before? Unreliable taster? No idea. But this was great.

An instance where the vintage serves the wine well. Precise, delineated and balanced, with a nice earthiness complementing the restrained, tart fruit. A touch herbal.

No formal TN, took this bottle with me on Thanksgiving vacation. Red and dark fruited, some spice and forest floor. Good but not sure about the $62 USD price tag.

Mushroom, red fruit, forest floor nose. Red fruit dominates the palate: cranberries, tart red cherries, earthy undertones and great acidity. Delicious wine.

Bright red berry fruits on the nose with ripe cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, underlying the fruit there is subtle spice, black tea, and a hint of violet. The palate has plenty of ripe fruit, but has very good freshness and energy, still some underlying tannin, but at this point pretty well integrated. Very good food wine and stylistically more similar to Oregon pinot than most California pinot.
Pretty similar on night two with still bright red fruits and spice mostly dominating the nose. Tannins are slightly less noticeable, but otherwise no significant change. Based on that I think this has at least 5 years of positive cellar development ahead.

Expressive nose at this point with tart red fruits and definite oak/spice to complement. PNP this has very nice fruit and acid balance. Quite enjoyable. Will save 1/2 for day 2 to see if this is worth saving longer for the next bottle....
Day 2 has the same nose, a little less acidity and a little more tannin on the finish....not sure what to make of that other than I liked day 1 more than day 2. I say drink now.

I really enjoyed this wine last night. Reminds me what I like about not only the 2011 vintage, but producers who pull back on the ripeness in pinot noir, as well as the oak. I didn't sense either sticking out, and in fact, the wine seemed leaner, good acidity and nice mix of red and blue fruit. I didn't take notes but this was my recall, a clear 'like' on this wine.

World Of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting- 3/2; 3/2/2013-3/4/2013 (Shell Beach, CA): 25% whole cluster. Notes of earth, dill, red fruit and mineral. Bright red cherry and cranberry on the palate with notes of anise, chalk, and black tea. Integrated fine structure with nice balance and a full finish. Give it plenty of time.

Beautifully balanced, nice fruit of berry, crushed rock and mouth watering acidity. Easy drinking pinot.

Medium ruby color. Very floral and perfumed nose with hints of earth. Nicely balanced on the palate. Made from 25% whole cluster.
