Still a dark ruby hue with virtually no bricking. Nose still smells fresh, with dark red berries, tobacco, earth, cacao, and some oak. Medium bodied. Fruit hits first, and it’s mostly freshly crushed raspberry and not quite ripe cassis with oak and secondary notes making themselves known midpalate. Firm tannins clean the palate on the way to the finish, which is a touch hot.
I was surprised by how much life this wine had left in it. I thought I would open a wine that was at peak, but I think (sadly, since I have no more) that’s still a few years away.

It's been a little over a year since I've had a bottle of this. My notes still hold, although this bottle had slightly firmer tannins and a little hotter finish. Still going strong with plenty of flavor, and probably better on night two than night one.

Not one of their better efforts I am sad to say. Nothing wrong with the nose, lots of nice dark fruits and a nice amount of oak but the finish was short and the wine just seemed thin to me. I had hoped for more after laying this bottle down for almost 2 years in my own cellar but there wax no magic in this guy.

A really tasty Cabernet from a low-profile producer of very good wines from Walla Walla. It has a nose of expressive bright blue and black fruits. On the palate, it's showing mostly cassis and black fruit flavors, with solid acidity and refined tannins. Better with an hour or more of air or extended time in the glass. Excellent now; probably even better in a year or two.

What I've found, through dint of painful experience, is that Kontos wines need time in the bottle to develop. If you don't believe me, look at the scores for this wine over time--constantly increasing.
This wine is really starting to come together. The mostly black fruit flavors are blending in nicely with the other, oaky, tobacco-y notes. Silky tannins. Good for another several or more years.

Walla Walla Syrah Festival "Vintage Pour" (Cavu Cellars, Walla Walla): Cherry, earth leather, cigar smoke and buttery finish. Nice use of oak.

Beautiful color, nice nose and smooth as silk on the palate. Well balanced. I don’t believe that additional cellaring time will improve this wine.
