Light gold color (particularly for its age); delicate nose with Stonefruit, citrus, and marshmallow; medium bodied with a nice balance between acidity and viscosity; flavors of citrus, melon, and toasty oak. Closes with a very long finish.

Lemon, lime and some stone fruit. Medium straw colour. Good acidity, medium(+) bodied, creamy, buttery, long finish. None of us could quite place the mystery herb we all detected; our best effort was that it was reminiscent of Fenjal bath oil. The Sommelier suggested thyme but not really right.

chablis-like with less mineral / chalk than some desire in chablis ... can't tell if i like this as well as the older Rueds ('09 especially). Had in afternoon without food for this 'taste' glass.

I'm thinking this just isn't going to be one of my favorite Rued vintages. It's good, but the interest and flavor of past vintages isn't showing up. At this point, probably not going to wait any longer on the last two bottles in our cellar.

Big and bold chardonnay - 100% barrel fermented, 50% new oak, 100% malo.. But this wine holds it in check. Still has lots of bright tropical fruit on front of palate - finishes with oak. Never overly rich or buttery. Dense and full bodied. Reminds me a bit of the Kistler style or Hartford. Big chardonnay but still showing fruit. Recommended.

had at dinner with other wine snobs ... everybody loved it. i think there may be a bit complexity to surface after a bit more time in bottle, but i may also be surprised ... a solid Rued vintage

Solid. Better than last. In the middle of the pack for Rued vintages. Might improve with 1-2 more years aging, but that's not clear. Still, we enjoyed.

See 5/11/14 notes. Consistent, but not even quite as good. Don't know about this one. There just seems to be an edge that is somewhat un-Rued-like. I MUST wait on next bottle from cellar. Give it until sometime into 2016.

4S Palo Alto enomatic. Peach, apple, grilled bread, hazelnut. Viscous. Medium acid and finish. Very expressive nose mirrors the flavors. A little heavy but balanced overall. Very good.

A good brightly acidic Chardonnay made in the old style. Chardonnay characteristics are in abundance. Great balance of fruit, low minerality and little honey with low oak.

This has a taste that is somewhat similar to the 2010. Nice. I sense that it will evolve to have a rounder, fuller taste. Viscosity now is medium plus. Citrus and green apples are there, with a bit of a cream coating. Drinks well by itself, yet there is a flinty acidity that let this go well with the chopped salad we had for dinner. Gonna try to hold the rest of the bottles, and not drink another one for 12-18 months.

As before, spectacular. And like in the past, this still is carrying a lighter golden color. A bit of Grand Cru in the Green Valley.

Another supberb bottle with lots of life left. Tasting this makes me think Grand Cru Burgundy, not Sonoma.

Day 1: Wow, really good, Burgundian style, deftly balanced. Will enjoy the rest of the bottle tomorrow. Day 2: Some butterscotch coming through.

Rued is always a special treat... this bottle was our white for Thanksgiving this year. Extended the end date out to 2020.
