1-011. Bought a case of 12 at an auction earlier this month for EUR 28 a bottle.; scored 94 pnt in Wine Spectator in 2013, just 1600 cases made. Lovely smell of eucalyptus, menthol, laurel, later on also cherry, tabac, plum, liquorice, clove and a hint of vanilla. We found the smell more pronounced than the taste was - still a bit closed, but splendid glass with the home-made fries and steak, our typical Sunday night dinner.

Beautiful aromas of dark red cherry, tobacco, and grilled herbs. Firm tannins have some bite, but aren't too forbidding. The palate is dry, with concentrated cherry and a touch of earth. Nice length.

Maturing nose with a bit off dried fruit, cherries, dry wood, dark chocolate and a bit of tobacco. Dry on the palate with a medium acidity, medium+ body, medium tannins and a medium intensity. Lacks a bit of acidity and focus to be really exciting, also somewhat short and warm on the finish.

Dark red colour with a brickred hue. Nice nose showing coffee and morello cherries in a youthfully closed down style. Yet softening tannines showing nice fruit with sweet morello going in to a long finish.

Classic sangiovese nose with cherrie, truffles and some earth. taste is medium+ bodied, great balance between fruit, acidity and som mild oak. Long and fresh rather than complex, but give this a few more years and it will develop, a bargain!

A bit more than medium red, with faded edge. Nose with cherries, some ripe strawberries, spice, rather well integrated oak, some flowery aromas, some elegance. Palate with cherries, noticable tartness with some bitterness, rather good concentration, noticebale spice, medium(+) tannins, aftertaste with berries. Rather young, 90(+) p. A good Brunello given its price. I suppose the style of this wine could be described as semi-modern.
