A good bottle, unlike the last one. Lovely stuff - lemon and lime aromas with lingering oak, but not too much, then a mouthful of buttery lemon with a touch of quince and herbs, quite bracing on the finish, promising more to come. Quite a nice surprise, I really should have waited longer. The CT drink-by dates are, as is often the case, completely silly. It's good now, but could be better with another two years and will be great for a good decade afterwards.

13.5% alcohol. Sauv. and Sem. in unspecified proportions, but overwhelmingly Sauv. from tasting. Very good long cork. Pale golden colour with even a suggestion of a green tinge. Very vivid nose with floral notes under dominant boxwood. This screams ripe Sauv., and very different from the Loire rendition. I feel nearly assaulted by the raw energy of the wine, but not in an unpleasant way. The mouth is just as bracing with fine acidity and more energy than complexity or elegance. Great purity of fruit. This bottle is in excellent condition, and in fact it needs another few years to calm down and become more harmonious. Enjoyable now in its primary glory, but with the promise of better things to come.

13.5% alcohol. Sauv. 90%, Sem 10%, (although nowadays the wine is 100% Sauv). Top class long cork. Bright golden colour, nothing too deep (relief!). Lovely nose of yellow flowers and ripe plum. The mouth has a glorious taste of ripe Sauvignon with a winning sappy quality; lanolin too, but nothing flabby. In terms of substance and refinement, this wine is easily the equal of a 1er cru from the Côte de Beaune. Perfect with (female) spider crab on day one and again with red fish (blue mouth) in a fennel sauce on day two. In impeccable condition at age ten, which is worth noting nowadays (I see that the Château gives 2022 as the outer limit of the drinking window). A repeat purchase in a heartbeat.

13.5% alcohol. Sauvignon 90%, Sem 10%. Very good long dense cork. Medium deep golden colour. Beautiful floral nose, mature but still fresh with yellow flowers, some yellow plum and verbena. The mouth is beautifully balanced with great poise and sufficient acidity; a slightly bitter note in the aftertaste adds grip. Very mild suggestions of oxidative notes appear towards the end of the meal, so I would suggest not delaying consumption much longer; in any case, the wine is glorious to enjoy now. A superb match for pan fried turbot.

13.5% alcohol. Good long dense cork. Rich golden colour, luminously bright. Decanted a short hour ahead. The nose has yellow plum and verbena, with some lanolin added to the mix; maybe even a hint of quince, super. The mouth is just as good with matching flavours and excellent grip. Excellent match for black sole. In perfect condition now, and looks good for another few years. A super Pessac punching well above its weight.

At maturity, or close to it, this delicious white is showing honeysuckle, white peach, grapefruit and lemon rind notes on the nose and palate. Fresh, round and citrusy this is in the perfect spot today.

13.5% alcohol. Svgn 90%, Sem 10%. Very good long dense cork. The colour is bright gold, showing no significant evolution. The nose is very rich, on the right side of overbearing, with white flowers, lanolin and a pleasant sweaty note (believe it or not); boxwood aromas comes out later and add to the complexity. No oak signature. The mouth is just as good with superb acidity balancing the rich wide ranging flavours. Marvellous match for pan fried brill. One of my best Pessac ever. In terms of refinement and intensity, this is in the same class as most Côte de Beaune 1-er crus that I have had. A repeat purchase for sure.

13.5% alcohol. Good long dense cork with about a cm of wine penetration. Lovely smell of the cork. Pale gold colour. Very pleasant rich nose of white flowers and some lanolin. The mouth is equally good, with a superb balance between richness and vivaciousness. No obvious oak influence. Drinking well now, with some room for further development, and no hint of tiredness. Medium + body with lots of similar flavor characteristics on the palate. Very concentrated (surprising for this estate) with great freshness due to acidity and a long finish.

Vegetal nose like a farm stand full of root vegetables with pea tendril and celery root with lemongrass and grassy herbs. Some underripe pear and white peach aromas. Nice acidity on the palate with a lovely texture. Asian and d'Anjou pear flavors with accents of lemon oil and lime citrus with golden apple and edible flowers. Slight hints of oak on the back palate through the finish adding some brown spices to the fruit. Tasty. Plenty of life remaining in this wine.

This gave less pleasure than I remember and noted from a bottle of 2011 about 6 months ago. Like that vintage it showed medium body, lively round fruit with grapefruit, gooseberry and a touch of pineapple but balance was less good with more prominent buttery notes and a touch of harsh dry caramel on the finish, probably from new oak ageing. These may integrate better with time so I may take a chance on more bottles if I can find them close to the same special offer price of €14. Just good right now.
