Nice cherry notes. All tannins shed. Nice round body with a pleasing finish that showed some edges of age. I think the wine is fully matured and just started to its downward trend. I would drink this wine sooner than later. Max 2 more years unless you enjoy wines with age like notes.

Dark crimson color with rose colored meniscus. Red berries, cherry, persimmon, asian spice, underbrush and sweet woody notes on the nose; black cherry, cherry cola, sandalwood on the palate. Lots of fruit and enough tannic backbone to deliver great flavor and balance through the silky medium finish. Easily one of the best values in the W-S line up.

PnP. Cork wet half way up which is concerning. Medium light red. Spicy earthy nose ( no soapy lavender like last bottle!). Nice red fruits on the medium weight palate with a long and lovely mineral driven finish. Very nice wine and pleasant surprise after the last bad bottle.

Drank w/ Thanksgiving Dinner. Still bright and strong right out of the gate. A ton of fruit still left, strawberry, cherry, but balanced well with some tannins.
Can keep going for more time in the cellar...

Dark red, scarlet, Cardinal colors, v. light sediment in bottle; Dark Cherry, Dark Berry, wood undertones with an earthly tinge; Smooth, rich, balanced, Moderate body while still quite fruity and a little thicker than most. Definitely a personal favorite. At peak but not declining yet.

Dark red center, red rim with only modest signs of age. Sweet, black cherries, polished leather, touch of cocoa, Smooth, cola, slight prickle, blackberry and cherry, anise and cinnamon, a little oxidation, sappy and some vegetal notes, smokey, very good length. Very good Yorkville Pinot, drinking well now.

PnP, but may benefit from a short decant. Very light color and body. There is a solid acidic note to this wine -- expressed as citrus and a bit of orange. This cutting acidity is not quite balanced by a good dose of red and tart cherry, along with some drying tannins on the finish. Not the pinot profile that we favor.

This has improved with age -- better than I had expected. Still round, bursting with fresh red fruits, a hint of orange and kiwi, balanced with some tobacco and spice. A really beautiful wine.

Note to self need to move through these soon. Fruit is fading. Nose is eligant and floral but palate fruit comes across a bit tart with a little green on the finish. My rating is based on what im getting now but i think this would have been better a yr or two earlier.

Beautiful, elegant without a lot of fruit. The terroir of the Highlands really come through in this wine. Med-full bodied with a nice long finish. Great with Easter ham, lamb and lox.

Opened and initially had some nice, balanced, Pinot qualities that quickly started to fade. A touch of leanness that improved the balance. Much better than the typical WS and the RRV Pinots.

Had this side by side with the 2006 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Blagny 1er Cru La Pièce-sous-le-Bois. Striking contrast. Although I rate them with the same score, the score does not necessarily reflect my preference which is for the Jobard. That is just because I like the more angular notes that wine is able to hit. The WS is just so delicious for what it is. We enjoyed at home with friends at home late night after going to a concert (radius ensemble- if you are from Boston, music worth checking out). Savory stuff. Flowers, herbs and dried cherries on the nose. Silky on the palate with some nice weight and gentle tannins. The fruit still has some good energy- dark berries. I am not sure this is going to get a lot nicer as the fruit is drying out a touch but it is really really tasty stuff. So glad I got a bottle (thanks to DR).

PnP. Clear, med ruby/purple. Nice proper nose. Good showing considering tough vintage. More full and power than many of the 11's. Good balance, more complex, med body/finish, pleasant, usual bigger CA Pinot traits but not over extracted. Nothing off. $62

Finished third in a tasting against Ferrington and Weir vineyards. Over the hour evolved enough to make some question their rankings. Good fruit although slightly more brooding than the others. Lovely wine.

Bright fruit with deep earth and smoke. Thick tannin, still feels young even in late 2015. One of the pinots that is more than capable of accompanying beef. Paired wonderfully with prime rib and Yorkshire pudding.

Rich purple garnet. Nose of roses, raspberries, star fruit, cinnamon, wet earth and leather. This is a big wine. First sips were all red fruits and rounded edges. As the wine opened, we started to get sweetness with cedar, a hint of bing cherry, orange, tobacco and a touch of bittersweet chocolate. This is drinking well now, and may do ok with more age, but this is a low-acid wine that is youthful and attractive and may be best as such.

The nose is outstanding. All dark fruit, earth and mushrooms. The taste leaves one wondering "Where did it go?" Past vintages of Weir are known for being lush, flavorful and smooth. The 2011 is a watered down version and demonstrates how difficult the 2011 growing season was to coax a good wine from lesser fruit. Still superior to many wines of this vintage, just not a great representation from this vineyard when the bar is set so high. Plum & sour cherry with some earthiness. Overall impression is "Too light"

Awesome. My first Weir and I was really impressed. Spiced and toasty with a boat load of Pinot character. Bright acidity and good balance that bodes well for this wine in the next 5-8 years.

May be one of the best wines I have had in years. Tart cherry, raspberry, and blackberry with a hint of cedar, baking spice, and pepper, but what really does it for me is the great acidity and minerality on the long finish. CA sunshine fruit with the Burgundian minerality and acid.

Drinking quite nicely, medium fruit - aside from a tannic streak not really that much like typical WS. Quite enjoyable - would drink up.
