This was terrible. A recent addition to my cellar and either this didn't have a good storage history, something the seller claims is not the case, or this has aged terribly. Either way, while not totally undrinkable, it was poured down the drain because life is too short to drink bad wine.

Wow, this is outstanding! Although there are some tertiary aromas with sweet liquorice and leather, the overall impression is very fresh with some flowers and a hint of menthol. Similar notes on the palate, along with a good acidity and smooth but firm tannins. Long, complex and very drinkable. Do I have to say this was a great match with osso bucco and forest mushroom risotto?

Pop and poured at the end of a lot of drinking. Felt like something was off with this bottle. Others liked it but I was ambivalent at best. If this was not an off bottle this has not aged very well. Definitely not worth the 68$ price point.had a lot to drink by the time I got to this but I don't think that colored my judgment.

Half hour decant, Rose, leather and a touch of spice on an outstanding nose. Licorice and cherry plus other things I can't identify on the pallet. Great mouthfeel and long finish. A little blue cheese seemed to make this explode with flavors. Tannins are very fine and well integrated. A really nice barolo that is drinking very well. I thought it fairly priced for the quality it delivered. 94+

Tegelröd färg. Ljusröd frukt i doft och smak, främst körsbär. Även viss nyans av tobak och läder. Bra struktur med en hel del tanniner kvar vilket är positivt. Överlag en bra Barolo, 91 poäng med snudd på 92.

Decanted 4 hours and it was absolutely fantastic with some flavors I have not found in any barolo before, perhaps a little port like. Great nose and long finish. At the 6 hour mark it changed into something different and more like other high end barolo I have had. Drank it with a 06 aldo conterno colonnello and I thought that at the 4 hour mark it was better but at the 6 hour mark the colonnelo was better. Still, an outstanding wine that I would buy again and that I highly recommend. Drank with: 2000 masi mazzano amarone, 06 aldo conterno colonnelo barolo, 09 darioush cab, 09 sbragia Rancho del oso cab, 98 raymond generations cab.

Drank over 2 days. Brick red color. Cherries, leather, a bit earth on the palate. Some complexity. Not as good as the last bottle. Medium Finish. Nice and easy drinking.

Double decanted at the winery, in a vertical comparing with the 2012 and 2000. Very aromatic, complex nose, vanilla, violets, tar, and herbs. Bright cherries, raspberries, oak, meat, and, yes, some noticable tannins into the finish. Nice acidity to carry the finish for quite a while. Still a young masculine Barolo that will only improve with age.

Improved a lot since the last bottle 2 years ago. Decanted 2 hours. Drank over 2 days, night in the fridge. Opaque dark brick color. Cherries, dark red fruit on the palate. Will improve further. Very good.

Barolos ( and few more) (Chris's): My WOTN and the groups runaway winner. Purple in color. The nose is tight, with air it opens and is beautiful showing cherries, dark cherries, tar and an herbal note. Great texture. Black cherries on the palate and firm tannins. Long finish. Improves all night.

Tasted at the 2013 Cal-Ital Summer Wine Fest Grand Tasting in the Grand Ballroom of the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Excellent & among the WOTN.

Wait and then wait some more. Plenty of air ( 1 hour decant and several hours slow ox ) - the nose was beautiful but needed time to show and kept evolving even on day two. Not much to work with when tasting, very closed and needed food to show a minimum of its potential - will have to wait several years to open the next bottle and by then it will be excellent - hopefully.

Decanted 3 hours prior to drinking. Classic Barolo with violets, liquorice, cherries and dry tannins. Good stuff.

Bold maskuline barolo. At this point fruit is suppressed and tannins are opulent. Give it time and it might turn into something beautiful.
