La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Bright and elegant red fruit with moderate weight. The faint bitter edge I recall from before is softening, so I like this better now. Best to enjoy on the younger side, 2019-2029. 88-89 points.

Good color. The nose shows fragrant aromas of summer berries, flowers, minerals, rhubarb and a hint of oak. This is medium bodied on the palate with good concentration and good finesse. The fairly long finish features well integrated tannins. Very inviting!

Medium-bodied and round flavours in the mouth. Only slightly tannic and the Wine is coming together. First thing on the palate is sweet but then the depth of the wine is kicking in. Flavours are still primary and it will be interesting to see how it develops over the years.

Røde bær, lakris, intensitet, harmoni, meget snille tanniner og lang ettersmak. Drikker fantastisk nå. Den vil kanskje utvikle seg positivt men hvorfor ta sjansen når den viser slike supre kvaliteter nå.

Nose is dominated by a floral note with red fruit and a bit of earth balancing.
In the mouth is where this wine really shines. Impeccable balance. Red fruit leads the way with the flowers making a subtle reappearance in the mid palate. Finish is tight but lingering. The energy seems to move from the back of the mouth toward the front of the tongue as the wine progresses. Tannins are of medium strength but incredibly fine.
Leaves very little to be desired. A great drink if you have the opportunity.

The 2011 Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Chapelle Monopole is medium ruby in colour with a nose of sweet candied yet jammy raspberries and slight thin-skinned prunes. There's a hint of floral notes that makes it very appealing bouquet. The candiness of the bouquet may remind one of some playful Beaujolais aromas.
On the palate, there's a soft entry of fleshy cherries over the gentle candiness (much more expressive on the nose than on the palate, definitely grateful for that). Light and fluffy palate weight. Very round, soft and pretty focused. Medium finish. A very pleasant wine that is pleasurable and refined. Delish and expressive, plus points for its roundness and elegant style.

IPNC Walk-Around tasting; 7/26/2013-7/27/2013 (McMinnville OR): Tasting. Charming red fruit with some floral charm, licorice and some fresh herb hints. Very accessible and balanced already today, this is a very good, accessible and young drinking Volnay.

La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Vertical. Tasty red cherry now with faint spice, but on the tart side. Good weight.
