Robert Rolls Burgundy lunch 2023 (St John): Very nice wine. Relatively undemonstrative, but actually quite a lot there: thickish texture, nice balance of wood/reduction/fruit, refreshing and long. Felt completely ready - open 'em if you've got 'em!

This takes 30-45 minutes to open up, shed reduction and put on weight. Very nice orchard fruit with matchstick and mineral. Precise with village-level weight. Bright throughout.

Light yellow with tinges of green. High acid, laser focused, and relatively tight...substantially more so than my last bottle. Doesn’t scream PYCM. Very good, not great.

Still drinking very young, bright fruit, lime curd and buttered toast nose. The wine fills the mouth as the bright acidity cuts through the center of the palate. Extended finish vacillates between a satisfying bite and a rounded fruit-focused sweetness.

Haskell Vineyards Tasting Session (Haskell Vineyards): Light to mid jasmine yellow Floral aromas showing vanilla pod, orange blossom, white peach, spice and unusually white pepper. (Tasted blind) A juicy approach with vigorous acidity, sappy texture and richness underneath leading to a long finish. Flavours include greengage, lemon, lime and loquats with a mandarin pithiness, dry with no sweetness. The wine seems quite fruit-driven, almost bold in an Australian sense, but the dry, slightly disarming edge - almost phenolic - on the finish works quite nicely in balancing the wine out. It didn't wow as it appears relatively straightforward but eminently enjoyable.

After drinking thru several of the '11's, this seemed much fatter, with less of a mineral finish. Beautiful fruit, but drinking a bit young. Hold for another year.

straw colored, aromas of ripe white peach, a slice of ripe white pear, a nuance of white pepper, subtle floral notes, on the palate excellent balance between tight racy acidity ripe yet restrained fruit (white peach) and moderate use of well integrated French oak (perhaps 20 percent new). Med+ length of finish and great finesse and elegance.

Very pretty subtle nose with hints of mineral, flint with orchard fruit, palate is quite clean with medium intensity and medium plus acidity which carries the minerality well, though does mute the fruit somewhat

Drank off a wine list, notes from memory. I liked this less than others have here. I found it a bit austere. Somehow came across as overly incisive without any fruit expression. Perhaps a phase but as I've not tried his wines before perhaps just an overly lean style that I do not find to my liking. Still, it was by no means bad and I appreciated what fruit there was and the winemaking...just seemed a little too tilted towards the laserlike cut approach to Chardonnay than the more opulent and rich styles I tend to prefer.

Aromas of diacetyl, honeycomb, oak and slight sulfur, quite creamy and generous but with an elegant and balanced palate. Great length, high acid palate which is drawn out nicely as it opens up. Gorgeous wine.

Light yellow. A surprising amount of oak for a P.Y. Colin wine. This currently obscures the fruit, but the silky texture and excellent length are there for a lieu dit Chassagne.

White Burgs and Rhone Varietals To Go With Burgers and Thursday Night Football (Los Olivos, CA): Taut and reductive upon being opened, but with air and as temps came up the wine rounded out and took on weight beautifully, with orchard fruit and floral notes along with a pleasing herbal element. Not the most complex, but highly enjoyable.

At Harbor House. Rich and round; hints at it’s more prestigious neighbor, but less complex. Doesn’t feel like it will make old bones.

A little sulphur which didnt stick around long. Very nice minerals with yellow fruits and a beautiful finish keeping it very fresh, full but light.
