  • Jim Clendenen has done it again. Mellow red fruits (raspberries, cherries up front, strawberries on the finish) sitting on flowers. Still has vibrancy and youthfulness to it, but maybe 2-3 years before it's past that point.

Based on the cork, I wonder if this was recorked and topped up at the winery. No idea if ABC even does that.

  • Echoing my previous note, on this occasion it was drunk alongside a 2006 Rollin IdV and a 2013 Enderle & Moll Liaison. Richer in character than the other two but definitely cut from the same cloth it still has vibrant fruit but in a restrained package. Seamless beauty and a reminder as to what CA Pinot Noir can do when in the right hands.

  • Drunk alongside a 2006 Dujac MSD, this wine had nothing to be ashamed of. Firm acidity, dark red fruit and some terpene notes lent this wine a very attractive character. It's still young and should develop further with age and should have a bright future ahead of it.

  • WOTN in a blind tasting of American Pinots, all from great producers and vintages between 2004 and 2010. Best balanced, long finish, all in harmony, and not a hint yet of going over the hill.

  • Very burgundian. Still a baby.

  • Very nice fruity packed pinot noir. The wine is lively with a smack of red fruit on the nose and lovely acidity in mouth. This puts me in mind of Santenay wines. Light, punchy, fun wine that goes down all too easily. Intense aromas and taste of cherries and rapeberries. Again and again please

  • First tasted at the winery with Jim Clendenin 7/2010. Loved it, but it was way too young. Tried my first bottle since, and it's the same - this will go for another 10+ years, but it's got all the stuffing. Great acidity, moderate alcohol, well balanced wine with great fruit. This will sing one day.

  • Served with Dave K tonight; quite nice. Nose is steely cherry and strawberry. A hint of the flavor profile to come. Attack is red fruit: cherry, strawberry, and apple, oh yes! Finish is robust, with a tart expression and bold tannins. Very nice, overall.

  • Garnet colored. Clean, semi-sweet semi-tart strawberry with some dark cherry on the nose, does not make itself too blatantly obvious like many powerful California Pinots. Flavor comes through stronger, with somewhat baked red fruit and hard candy coming through. Tannins not too soft or tacky on the tongue. Good acidity and alcohol level. Overall well constructed but does not provoke a passionate response as it does not make itself noticeable beyond many other very well made Pinots.

  • Black cherry, red cherry, strawberry, and rhubarb, also flowers. Supple and soft on the front, with ample mid-palate sap and finishing acidity. Vibrant red fruit, limpid and persistant. I think I prefer this to the '05. The depth and concentration are remarkable for the vintage. Ends with a funky, rhubarb-esque note that may dissipate with time.
