-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 2 to 3 hours --
NOSE: watery mineral; rich; high-toned, but very rich; light pineapple.
BODY: rich, moderately dark golden yellow color; medium-full to full bodied.
TASTE: rich, but a touch watery; little tiny hint of wet cardboard, so maybe just a faint bit of TCA here, but if that's the case, it's sitting behind a presentation of a rich, lemony, buttery Chard. with medium oak presence. Drink Now.

Rich, golden yellow color. Lush sweet pineapple dominates the bouquet, with a light touch of mineral. Medium to medium-full bodied on the palate. Rich, lemony, flavor with ample juicy acidity. Very good, but a notch below the Sleepy Hollow.

Lemon and apple aromas. Same flavors along with some lemon custard. Good overall balance with moderate weight. Good now, and i expect this will drink well for at least 5, probably even 10 more years.

Even better than before. It's an extremely well-balanced chardonnay. It has just the right amount of oak (very little) and the perfect acid level. It goes very well with fresh crab and white fish.

Very elegantly styled California Chardonnay, mostly showing lemon and lemon custard with some apple hints. Rich and forward start, slightly simpler, less interesting finish.

A Visit to Arcadian Winery (Lompoc, CA): Off the bat this features a good whack of oak, which probably still needs a bit of time to integrate. Nose is of cashew, pear, wood lacquer, toast, white peach, lemon curd and kiwi. The palate is very tart with elevated acid. Medium plus finish with hints of vanilla and tart orchard and stone fruit. Evidently lean on the ripeness but a fair bit of oak. A high quality, restrained style.

If I'm going to drink CA chard, it'll probably be in the (moderately restrained) Arcadian style. Not a lot of opportunity to open these, but pitch perfect with Sea Bass topped with mango/urfa chili salsa, and lemon butter green beans. Nice.

This wine spent 36 mo. in barrel, and then another 24 mo. in bottle. Moderate mineral tones. This has an overall lighter personality than the Sleepy Hollow Chard..

Stunning California Chard. Ripe pear and apple along with touch of lemon and tropical on nose. Also a dose of distinct vanilla. Palate opens with nearly rich fruit to be met with acidity, leading to a complex finish of flavors, lifting acidity and background stone. Not on the ethereal side at all, rather it packs a gorgeous punch.

Most excellent. Popped and poured. Wonderful nose of fresh fruits, pear, apple, peach, lemon and oak. The taste was similar to the nose, absolutely wonderful. While it did have a good amount of butter, it was well-controlled and not overwhelming. The perfect acid level made this wine go great with fresh dungeness crab.

We loved this! Young for an Arcadian, but full of flavor. It's CA chard, no doubt, but with a balance to it. It reminds me of an older Aubert that has shed it's weight and oakiness and now retains a bit as a back note. The acidity carries the day. Drinking really well

Apple and baked apple with good richness, but clearly past its peak by several years.

Mature apple throughout with lemon custard hints. Good weight, losing brightness. Disappointing, given my previous bottle from 4 years ago.

Still doing well. Has the stuffing for at least a couple more years, at the very least.

Still wonderful. I think that this wine will likely be great for at least another 3-5 year, maybe more.

Wonderful wine for the price point. Warmer fruits with hints of pineapple, mango, and slight lemon.
Perfect acid balance to counter the warm fruits.
Excellent mouthfeel, and texture with a bit of a chalky finish.
I would easily put this up against many wines costing 1.5x
