Burgundy color with a warm rounded impression in the mouth and with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries, plums, cola, earth, and allspice. Good balance and definition with quite a long finish. Very good and distinctive when compared to other California Pinot Noirs.

NR--first night nose of deep cigar box, tobacco and spice but seemed awful pruney on palate. Seemed to improve after about 45 mins, but most of bottle was recorked for next day. Next day nose was certainly more subdued, but still nice. Previous poster mentioned cola--while I characterize KB as heavy cola, and a MUCH different style than this, I think there is a bit of a cola influence. Not over-sweet though, as lighter cigar box and tobacco and dark cherry dominate. Interesting wine to say the least, but feels like its best years are from 2016 - 2020.
Tasted at Brewer-Clifton. Medium-dark ruby color. Expressive nose of red berries, but also some dark fruit, minerals, sweet spices and pepper and some flowers. Complex flavors on the palate too. Medium-full bodied without any heaviness with medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin. Still very young but there is great balance there. Great length. A fascinating Pinot from a colder vintage with plenty of structure, tension but also fruit. I like it a lot!

Medium dark ruby color; baking spice, Asian spice, baked raspberry, dried cherry, orange spice nose; medium bodied, rich but elegant, orange spice, tart cherry, briney, black tea, dried cherry palate with firm, sweet tannins; could use 2-plus years of bottle age and should go 15+; medium-plus finish (14.5% alcohol; 25% each clones 459, Mount Eden, Pommard and Merry Edwards; 100% whole cluster)

Not as great as it used to be, past its peak.
