Cherry and menthol on the nose. On the palate, cherry with notes of clove, menthol, leather, rose petal, and earthy spices that evolve through the medium to long finish, with light tannins and moderate acidity. This is elegant, and I might have been able to guess that it was Cannubi blind. The Cellartracker drinking window is definitely too short, as this isn't falling apart, and it needed a few minutes of air to open up. It's nicely balanced between secondary and tertiary notes right now; drink or hold depending on your preferences.

Beautifully mature bottle. Earthy, floral and almost two decades later, full of red fruit. Tannins are fully integrated, acid is medium plus, texture is velvety and rich. Finish is long. It truly exceeded my expectations.

Ramat-Aviv quartet - 27 years anniversary (about) (at Chanoch Reichenberg): dark red-brown classic quality Barolo fruity-earthy aroma, though still tight medium-full bodied, fine firm tannins, well balanced, excellent harmony, good structure, fine complexity, still tight and closed since the wine wasn't opened well before consuming. This is an excellent wine, that requires prior opening!

Upon first pour this wine lacked any fruit whatsoever. Just acid wrapped in tannins. But after just a few minutes of decanting the fruit began to emerge and after about a half-hour was perfectly balanced and integrated with a really nice cherry core. Dark red in the glass with some bricking on the edges. A little sediment in the bottle. Lovely, lingering finish with a thousand different flavors--earth, dried fruit, leather--and a slightly different aroma every other minute. Great wine. I'll buy more if I can find it.

John's 70th B-Day Blowout (Sandy Springs, GA): Maroon core with lighter rim, some sediment; classic nose of roses, pure red cherry, Barolo, good fat, licorice, leather, pleasant tannin wrap; in a good spot, the least linear bottle of Nei Cannubi I've ever had; great stuff; oh yeah I nailed it exactly.

drank over two nights, nice sipping wine, plenty of tannin there but not overwhelming, good acid too, med to full bodied with bold flavors that included red fruits with some sweetness and some richness (oak?)… feels like this is just seeing some secondary development and has the grip to last a lot longer… probably drank this too young

Tasted blind. This was awesome. Pinned it right away as a classic Barolo from a good vintage. Great acidity with lots of red fruit, notes of hung meat, roses and spice. This was singing on all levels. It can age but I wouldn't wait too long - it's so good now.

showing well and seems at near a peak state right now. Softened integrated tannins, nice secondary aromas, and a lovely floral bouquet. showed well with a bit of air.

another nice cannubi from einaudi though the 1999 shaded this one. medium ruby colour, OK nose of violet and flowers. cherry and flowery palate - good finesse and balance but not enough complexity and finish to make it that little bit better.

SFwine Nebbiolo Tasting (San Francisco): Very sweet cherry nose, a little funk, a little overripe. But wow, big and really tasty on the palate, though showing some oak. Overall a little overripe/roasted for the vintage, but a successful wine nonetheless.

Light to medium body. Absolutely ready to drink. Aromas of red berries, tobaccoo, spices. Cherry, and spicy in mouth. Sweet long finish.
