  • Quite lactatic at first, going into a refined bitterness (reminiscent of grapefruit), with a long lingering finish where mandarin, basil and apple comes in. Very lively acidity still, and a quite unique style of wine. Not entirely to my liking but nevertheless without any apparent flaws.

  • Glue, wax, some funky complex notes, hay, well-balanced, slight sour notes, but needs food. Not the best Pepe Trebbiano I've had. With Kat at Il Sorpasso.

  • Initially very funky on the nose, with time some wore off and a more balanced amount lasted. Taste of ripe apples, oxidative. A bit of an orange feel except with less tannins.

  • Animalisk på näsan, krut och mineral. Bra nu och ännu större potential.

  • The wine shows a bit of hazyness, medium intense, yellow color.

Youthful nose with medium intense aromas. Initially there is lots of reductive and funky notes. Combined with a lot of ripe apples this makes me think of Normandy cider. Given half an hour in the glass the reductive notes disperses and leaves a basket of citrus fruit, aromatic spices, hay and a touch of green grass behind.

Very dry, with a medium+ acidity, light tartness, medium bodied with a bit of a fat and oily texture. Medium+ intensity and a medium+ finish.

Brilliant wine! Looking forward to compare this with the 2009 that I bought at the same time. Will probably keep for another decade.

  • The wine shows a slightly hazy, medium intensity, lemon color.

The nose is youthful with a medium aroma intensity. Aromas of green and yellow apples, fresh lemons, apple cider vinegar, hay, stable floor, spice and lavender. Unique, complex and rather deep nose. Very interesting. Almost like a Gueuze.

Dry on the palate with a medium acidity and medium body. Fat and slightly waxy mouthfeel. The flavor intensity is medium(+) with flavors of apple core, tart stone fruit, hay, spice and lavender. The finish is medium(+).

A very unique and interesting wine. Opened up rather reductive and acrid but that blew away with some aeration. I love how much personality this wine has but I must say that I was expecting more. Sure, this wine is terribly young today and I hope I'll sometime get the chance to taste a mature example of this wine.

  • A beautifully fresh and savory nose. Unique and while deep, it is still very fresh. The beauty here is the tactile attack on the palate, texturally dense but fresh with great length, weird and lovely. Orange pith, mineral and very long. A terrific pairing to carne cruda with Ligurian artichokes. 92 pts

  • Bottle in good shape at a Wine Bar. Bottle no. 07061
The colour is somewhat between light yellow and straw/hay. Unfiltered and slightly turbid. Vin Nature.
At first the nose is very reduced, a whiff of yeast attacks me, dirty and not very pleasant at all. But after 30 minutes in the glass it s getting better and offers green grapes, grape skin, citrus, & herbs (like tagetes tangerine).
But the wine taste good right from the start. A bit oxidized, nice aromas and flavours of green grapes, yellow fruit and herbs. Ok mineral and a nice acidity that makes this wine a bit crispy. But this wine is lacking energy, lacking body and there is no complexity to talk about.
Not very long finish, yet ok. But no energy nor drive in the finish.

I paid 30 € for a glass of this wine at a wine bar, and I must admit I feel robbed. For the same amount of money I could get a wonderful glass of Sassicaia 2010 ...

  • Bottle No 03880, 12% ABV. Foot trodden, fermented with natural yeasts, bottled unfiltered after two years in large oak. Medium straw yellow colour. Initially almost impossibly reduced in the nose, but fortunately the hydrogendisulfide smell dissipates quickly. Floral and mineral style, touches of citrus fruit and grapeskins on the nose, full and creamy mid-palate with honey and yellow apple fruit, crisp and mineral finish, with a hint of nuttiness. I am not sure this very natural wine matches Valentini for quality, but it is certainly interesting. At Antidote Wine Bar, London, UK.

  • PICCOLI SOMMEILLER CRESCONO; 2/26/2014-6/20/2014 (B&B CASA DI CLARA): Riassaggiato dopo alcuni mesi. Vino da caraffare assolutamente.
Solito naso ridotto, zolfo prepotente che stenta a svanire.
La bocca è meglio del naso... buccia di limone, rocce e gesso.
Salivazione a mille e Beva assassina. Chiama a gran voce un piatto di sashimi!!

  • Never had this Trebbiano before. I was expecting a lot from this young baby, according to 19/20 points from "italian Espresso wine guide".
Decanted at the restaurant. Beautiful unfiltered pale gold, classic reductive nose ( pleasant for my taste).
Pleasant to drink, but lacking body and complexity. The finish is quite long but shy, if compared to Ganevat Grusse en Billat 2010, we drank together.
There was no game between the two....
Curious to see if it will improve within 5 years.
Valentini's trebbiano is from another world!

  • Zolfo, agrumi gialli, c'è una mineralita che ricorda sabbia o ghiaia, pepe bianco. Bocca viva e freschissima con un finale prima agrumato e poi leggermente amaro.
