  • Popped and poured. Garnet color. Nose of cassis, currant, earth. Red currant and plum fruit on the palate with integrated tobacco and green notes to add interest. Tactile tannin and freshening acidity leading to a longer finish of crisp red plum fruit with rocky grip. Very nice with BBQ brisket at Thanksgiving meal.

  • Medium garnet hue. Nose of cassis, blackberry, plum, dense earth, floral elements, and a bit of cedar. Exuberant display of red currant and blackberry fruit cut with bell pepper, rock, and fine iron particles on the palate. Freshness imparted by bright acidity nicely offsetting firm tannin and vivacious fruit. Longer finish of red currant, plum, tobacco, and grip. Buoyant Cabernet Franc character in an inexpensive package. Great with BBQ ribs.

  • As others have indicated, an intense fruit taste. I was on the fence as to whether this is (a) too young or (b) past its prime as I tasted some prune-like flavors, which are either over-extraction, overage or both.
May take a chance and let it sit and see what happens, purely experimental at a this point.
For those looking for a tame Cali-like Cab Franc, this is not it. It is bold and in your face (think Michael-David Lodi wines).

  • Intense dark fruit, cedar, earth, and nice acidity. Very aromatic with camphor on the palate and a menthol character that comes out the nose as you drink it. I would keep it longer or decant for awhile. It still has some softening to do.

  • Once again this is rock'n. Dark cherries, violets, tobacco and sweaty sock. Medium bodied with with medium acid, broad across the palate, with a good amount of tannin and a dry, mineral finish. Elegant and gentle yet slightly rustic. Ready to go after 30 minutes however this still has plenty of life. 5 years? An inspired match with yakitori.

  • Pretty reflective medium red. Blueberries and black pepper on the nose. Very tasty with notes of black raspberry, a bit of blueberry, and a lovely tartness. Mild, almost unnoticeable funk in the finish, which showcases the tartness. Chester's with Papa Frank and Nana Cheryl.

  • Color cereza granatoso, ribete rojo granate, capa media y gruesa lágrima poco tintada.

  • The nose reminds me of blue violets as is the case with other Cab Franc wines I have enjoyed. On the palate, the minerality comes to the fore, then followed by red fruits, including blueberries and blackberries. But the minerality stays with you through the finish. It is like schist.

  • Similar to my previous note. Lots of soil and loam on opening, great texture and pinpoint balance. However, after a two hour decant, the sweet fruity notes began to dominate. Lots of strawberry and blackcurrant. This really transformed and blossomed. Great with a hambagu steki.

  • Dirt, dirt, fertilizer and dirt. Hints of red berry, violets and capsicum. Shimmering aromas, clean and mineral. Light to medium bodied, powdery tannin, broad on the palate, great acid, seamless and full of class. Savory. Gains weight and sweetness with time in the glass. I think this will improve over the next three to five years. Classically styled Loire Cabernet Franc with out the rough edges. Lacks some concentration in this vintage but has good energy. Very claret like. Not for the dirt averse.

  • Really super Chinon, a less powerful vintage perhaps but this is seamless and super pretty and elegant. The usual cassis and bell pepper, sure, but elevated, and with lovely red fruit freshness and herbs. There's some oak detectable, but it's an integral not an intrusive part of the aromatics and the overall effect is really nice; it doesn't intrude on the texture of the wine, either.
