Tawny colour. Lots of tobacco, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Very little fruit on the nose. Mostly stewed. High acid, dry, med tannins, all terciary flavors. Don’t wait any longer. Open now!

I found this bottle which had not been entered into Cellar Tracker. This was an excellent Brunello. Full bodied, fruit forward. It took it a few minutes to open up in the glass. Excellent finish.

Decanted and enjoyed straight away, needed 15 min to start shine and was excellent throughout dinner - about 3hrs. Tertiary aromas all over, tobacco being dominant, fascinating, I could smell it for hours. In the mouth - chieseled acidity, vibrant, mid weighted, savory, really good with food. Very good job here at decent price, it is fully matured but will keep at least for another 5y.

Medium red with orange and brown tones. Not as mature a nose as the Château Gloria 2000 drunk alongside. Crisp fresh and vibrant. Still quite tannic. After 2-3 hours this developed a wonderful softness and added real weight to become a very full wine. Years left. Drink now to 2025+

Along with Hosanna 1999. Opened bottle, poured one glass, a light acid smell, that later vanished. Closed bottle with a stopper, waited for 5 hours to drink from the glass. Cinnamon and vanilla in the nose, slifhtly burned taste. Fell against the Hosanna, no question Need to see this over the next couple days. No Change, flawed bottle.

Medium red, transparent at the rim. Muted nose of dusty cherries. Tastes good initially and on the finish, but seems to be missing something in the mid-palate. Cherry fruit, damp earth balancing acidity and tannins. Finish is pretty decent. This would score higher if there were more in the middle.

NY/NJ WLTV Offline (Fabio's NYC): Medium intensity garnet in the glass. Very nice nose with notes of cherry, dark chocolate, and licorice. Soft mouth feel. Medium to full-bodied. Medium high tannin and acid. Balanced structure and in a really good spot for drinking right now.

Black currant on the nose(when decanting) acid on first attack - Light but nice - Surprising for a Brunello. I expected more punch. Yet, light and delicate. I am thorn between a touch Thin and elegant... 88

Medium ruby red in color. Opened and aired in bottle for one hour. Beautiful nose of dark berries, with a prominance of cherry. Not a complex wine, but balanced surely, and showing the best of any bottles of this that I've consumed thus far.

Garnet red in color. Opened and poured, this one is ready to consume. Mature Cherry and fruit with a touch of cedar. On the palate is more cherries and dark fruit covering the tongue and ending with pleasant, 30 second finish. Not a power house by any means, it can be enjoyed sooner than most other BdM' s of this vintage.

Color is a medium garnet. Nose shows cherry, mushroom, loam, and dust. On the palate, slightly sour cherry is at the fore balanced by earth, forest floor, and spice. Medium-bodied, and with good balancing acidity...this is a wine that really shows its best with food.

Deep, dark, impenetrable red. A baby, consumed too early. Reticent nose that with some air time and furious swirling revealed a very pleasant nose of dark cherries and dried fruits, a touch of sandalwood, and cedary anise. Some of these traits were apparent on the palate, but hard tannins on the tart finish made it hard to apprecitate them. Half the bottle was poured immediately, the rest left for a couple of hours to be revisited. The time did it well, as it began to open up a bit more and become more agreeable, although it continued to give more pleasure on the nose than in the mouth. Give this at least 5 years.

($35) Paso or Anything at Campisi's: Blind 2 - red - Dry cherry with a touch of dry wood and roasted fruit on the nose. Not a bad nose. Speaks of Tuscan Sangiovese for sure. John pegged this as Brunello by the nose, then backed off thinking it was Chianti based on the palate. I can see his logic. The palate starts with some red candy and licorice flavors then turns acidic and thin. Okay.

[Landmarc] first bottle was corked. raisins/dried sour cherries, heavy, medium-bodied; paired well wit tomatoess and pesto. Considering over great options probably will not buy more.

Medium-dark garnet colour to a dusty rim. Aromas of cherries, earth, alcohol, roses, and lavender. Medium-bodied with cherries, earth, and finocchio. A little simple in the mouth; not showing as well as on Sunday. Seems like a completely different wine. Diluted cherry finish lasting 20-25s.

Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello in NYC. Heavily bricked, oxidative and "raisiny". Also some VA/balsamic...seemed pretty well shot to me.
