Double decanted off its sediment and poured an hour or so later. Leather, black currants and plum. Softened tannins with dark fruit leather on the palate. Mature.

Surprisingly good for a reasonably priced Napa cab. Fragant nose, deep ruby color, tannins still quite grippy. Long dense finish even though the wine itself is closer to medium bodied. Nice black pepper notes that don't detract from the soft dark fruit.

Old World yet expressive, with ripe, plump dark fruit, cassis, Mexican candy spices, and perfectly integrated oak. Mid weight, juicy, and well-sculpted, the palate is enhanced by a fine dusting of spices, mango acidity, and earthy, forest floor undertones. Another beautiful 2011 Napa Cab that belies a so-called mediocre vintage.

Last one left. Nothing remarkable, although maybe not giving this its due since it is only an hour past opening. Relatively simple, not a lot going on. Medium to full. Garnet coloring. Good structure and aftertaste. Vanilla cloves and mint on the nose (cold). Good acidity and tannins. Medium dry.

Terroir-istes International - USA - California, Napa General (Cape Town Law offices): (Tasted Blind): A deep black-mahogany colour. Captivating and intense bouquet with signs of maturity mixed with cassis, forest fruit, bilberries and blackcurrant pastilles alongside dried earth and melted chocolate. Despite its age, the wine is bold, bright and nicely complex with those tertiary nuances. A well-balanced wine that is classy, powerful and structured with fleshy ripe fruits rubbing up against sweet, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Lovely depth to form a juicy core, the wine is polished with a mid-palate tension and closes with cedar, blackberry, tobacco and dried earth with an old leather jacket thrown in. Lovely expression.

This was better than I expected based on the review I read, and given that it is late in its cycle. Drank it over several days and it showed fruit, structure and good legs. Trying another one this weekend.

Drank over 2 days. Good cabernet, nothing too memorable about it. Decent mouth feel, but left me feeling "meh" could have been better. Tasted a bit watered down - but maybe that is a reflection of the vintage in Napa that year.

Drank over several days. First day was bite-y. Paired with Italian and held up well. Mellowed out over the next two days. Nothing extraordinary but a drinkable wine. This seemed more a food wine than a on-it-own.

Thanksgiving Dinner: 13.7% alcohol. Aromatic, classic youthful black fruit; palate is youthful, full bodied, ripe black fruit but nice balance; medium finish. Pretty good! 88

Still good, crimson colored with medium legs. There is no or very little sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral and plum. It has plenty of darker fruits still, maybe gooseberry or blackberry. The body is medium/full, and it has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

N: Attractive berries with notes of choc, iron, & earth, poss forest floor
P: Med body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by just enough astringency to firm, the finish being LONG & almost swtish with a BIT of tang. 13.7% ABV; [As of early Mar '19, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $40.]

Pnp, toasty sweet oak and cassis on the nose. on the palate, ripe black and blue berries on the palate (nicely done for the vintage), oak not as noticeable. Short finish, but enjoyable overall.

I moved this wine up on my "drink now" list after reading comments this wine is beginning to fade. Perfect timing. Decanted for two hours and consumed with mild spice Mexican food. Smooth, subtle and well made, this wine expands upon entry delivering dried fruits with hints of vanilla and tobacco, ending with a silky, satisfying long finish. I'm sure some will have good success holding this wine longer, but I must agree that this version is "not an ager."

Lovely dark fruit nose. A little vegetal without food, nicely toned with food. Good fruit, not over-oaked, tannins are present but integrated. Drink with dinner.

Nice. Grippy, metallic. Poured through an aerator into a Savino and it held up through 4 days. Best on day 1 though. I agree that it is probably fading, but still a nice wine if you can find it in the gotta go section at a clearance price.

Dark fruit, earthy notes, some green elements, bit of pencil lead. I was really impressed, this was a good drinker with pretty good depth for a fairly young cab. I would guess it can hold for a while still as well.

Signature Napa Valley terroir on the bouquet, olive grove, cooking herbs, and tobacco smokehouse. Moderate oak treatment, good substance, medium plus acid, light tannin. Smooth and texturally appealling mouthfeel, generous. Drinking well now, not a long-term ager. Drink by 2017-2018.

PNP at a restaurant in Memphis, this was too young and sweet for my taste. Very jammy with some oak thrown in. Perhaps some decanting and shelf aging will help this improve.
