  • Dark red with a brick red rim. Developed nose of pipe tobacco, cigar box, raisins, raw meat, and raspberry straps. Palate is initially full with masses of dried fruit on the entry but sweeter red fruits at the end. The tannins are resolved and warming.

  • It was exactly 2 years ago that I opened my first bottle of this and I think this one even better. It seems to have thrown off a bit of youthful fat to its advantage and has revealed an extra touch of classy backbone which is IMO is more typically Cahors. Not ready to slide downhill. Very good.

  • Dense, chunky wine. Lots of rustic pleasure though not fine.

  • I agree completely with eboracum (below). I was surprised at how fruity and full bodied this was. It has not degraded one bit from the last tasting note, in fact, I'd increase the longevity to more like 2022.
    Fabulous wine.

  • This is riper and fruitier than I am used to with Cahors. The usual near black colour and nose discreet but expressive and fragrant. There was medium body, quite sweet fruit with a brambly touch, suave texture, good depth, minerals, a touch of liquorice, fresh acidity and a firm finish with ripe tannic backbone. Drinking very well but will probably stay on a plateau for some time. Very good but a bit short on Cahors typicity.

  • Black fruit on the nose. Deep black-red colour. Well balanced. Drinking well but should age for next 5 years without problem. Good PQR.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a deep ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of cedar, dark plums, liquorice, cinnamon and walnuts. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has high coarse tannins and high warm alcohol. It has a medium+ body and medium intensity flavours of dark plums, cedar, liquorice and cinnamon. The finish is medium.

It is a very good quality wine with a nice tannic structure, some degree of complexity and a good balance between tannins and alcohol. However it comes out rather hollow lacking fruit concentration to balance the high alcohol and tannins. Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and some fruit concentration to develop more complexity over the next 3-5 years.

  • Tasted alongside a range of Argentinian Malbecs. Classic meaty Cahors heritage. Much leaner and more complex than the other wines. Split the people trying it. Some found hints of apple.

  • Clear deep ruby colour.

Clean nose with med+ intensity. Aromas black fruit (plum, cherry, berry), pepper, spice, earth, farmyard, cedar, vanilla. Developing.

A dry full bodied wine. High acidity, high tannin (round), high alcohol, med + flavours of blackberry! pepper! plum! bramble, cedar, coffee. Long finish.

A very good wine. Good balance of acidity and alcohol. Good complexity and good finish. Flavour intensity could be better. Can be drunk now but will develop further.
