Much tighter than the Gatekeeper. Nose is floral and savoury. Palate is bright but a little pinched with dominant tannins which leave things a little off balance. Perhaps this needs more time but not hugely coherent at the moment.

On day-1, I found this bottle to be a pleasure as per usual with Drew -- not the most complex, gripping, or ethereal -- but still it brought great pleasure and a sense of its source vineyard. I finished the bottle on Day-2 where I felt the wine had picked up a kink or two that I can't exactly put my finger on. I've had much older Drew Pinot that I've adored, so it's possible this wine is (or this bottle was) in some transition. Maybe it was an oxidized or stewed fruit note in the mid-palate; something metallic and rotting possibly. I wish I had better notes to describe the day-1/day-2 experience, but free time has not abide with me these past weeks. I have one more bottle to try down the line.

Delicate and silky but a little hollow on the mid palate. Wild strawberries and a touch of earth as the wine might be showing some secondary notes. This is probably just off peak so don’t wait any longer. A very pretty and refined wine

We agree with the two most recent notes — this has really come around since our last bottle 25 months ago. For a California Pinot Noir, it is surprisingly elegant. A restrained touch of earth. Integrated red fruit. Lovely definition, beautiful balance, all making it highly enjoyable over four nights.

Bright ruby. Starts of a little tart, redcurrant and cranberry. Good definition and line though. Fills out a little with air, some strawberrry fruit joins the mix. Quite long. ****

Deep ruby. Lovely bright cherry nose with a squeeze of cranberry. Plump cherry fruit with a velvety sweetness that sharpens to a silkiness. Very Morey, initially with a slight sweetness on the attack that hints at a riper vintage, or in this case Anderson Valley, but this lifts and brightens to put me back in a decent premier cru. Long and persistent. Lovely. ****

Light ruby. Balanced, bright, focused. Decent length and finish. Some forest floor. Nice example of cooler climate Pinot Noir. But it didn't develop much over three nights. We have only one more, and will save it for a couple years.

Didn't like this as much in November '15. As light as ever, but lacked layers - more a thin fruit without much to give. Time and air didn't do anything for it, but food did. I'm thinking it's just in a dumb phase.

One of my favorites from Drew as it seems to offer a luscious profile and really showcases the quality of the fruit and vineyard. Lovely on the palate and red berries and black plums persist to a lasting finish.

Moderate light red/purple color with fruit, twigs and cola aroma. There are cherry, plum and currant fruits with some pleasant herbal tartness and earth, a touch of oak and tannins. This is very good wine light wine

Pinnacle of the Drew Family Cellar. Conservative in a well appreciated way here. Excellent.

Really coming around in late '16. Leading with tart cranberry, nicely taut while retaining an approachable soft outer texture. A pleasure.

Best wine I've had from Drew. Mid-weight, well-balanced, nice faint chalky texture that seems typical of this vineyard. Really a gem.
