This wine has put on weight and added complexity since my last tasting. Dark fruit s showcased by river rock, Mediterranean spice, licorice and bitter cherries. The nose awakens the senses. The palate is layered with great depth and texture. So smooth, but detailed with dashes of flavor as it glides across the palate. Great juice.

My last of these two. Was a bit congested right out of the bottle but opened up beautifully after a while. Perhaps not the most expressive vintage of this, but it was still so composed and extended.

A really well made wine, but not quite at prime time yet. Reluctant nose of black cherries and vanilla. On the palate, cassis predominantly with a slight bitter finish. The amazing Grenache centric chocolate and coffee notes haven’t yet emerged. A little “hot” on the way down, but decent acidity and freshness. Wait 1-2 years to open the next one.

Nice lighter red. Has cherry, dark fruit, slight smoke, classic Rhone. Did not need decanting, but improved in the glass over an hour. Great with barbecue or smoked meats.

Medium garnet colour. Nose of dry cherry and leather with a hint of spice. Still a bit chewy but smooth. On the tongue I get cherry, blackberry and some blueberry, There’s some well integrated pepper. The finish is smooth and medium length.

Distinct blue fruits with secondary flavors of licorice, lavender along with hints of smoke and spice on the finish. Absolutely needs an hour decant to have all these elements come together.

This was well composed, well balanced - not as decadent as the '10 but good for the vintage. Quite a range of savory flavors, which I often get with CdP. Extensive on the palate, good with food. Will improve a bit with more age.

Best bottle of this yet. Lovely nose and body to this, fresh blue, purple, and red berries galore, some light smokiness, savory and sweet spices, and a generous finish that brought a big smile to my face. Lovely wine with a good QPR.

Red, blue and black fruit ramp up the horsepower of this wine. Spice cake and river rock add another dimension. The background minerality keeps this wine in balance. Decanted for three hours. Good juice.

This wine keeps improving with age, showing nicely after a couple hours in the decanter. Classic CdP notes of garrigue, blackberries, moist earth, graphite. Love this style of wine.

Each bottle has been a bit better than the last. This one came firing right out of the bottles with red and dark berries, nutmeg, garrigue, and a lovely floral nose that kept bringing you back for another sip. We flew through the bottle without realizing it.

So I didn't wait a couple years, but this time I gave this 3 hours of decant time and drank it over the next 2 hours. This is far from a great CdP, but showed much better this time. Still a little hot, I think the air helped open this up a bit to show some more cassis, warm spices, and blackberry compote. I have 4 bottles of this left and I'm hoping that more time continues to improve this wine even more.

Not ready at all, this wine is thin and lacking character at this point in its development. Only faint notes of CDP fresh red fruits and moist earth, I will open up another bottle in a couple years to see if this is starting to show some stuffing.

Lively fruit punchy sexy fruit forward wine with excellent acidity, dry tannins on the finish. Drinking this earlier than I should but nevertheless delicious. Seek out

After Party (Buckhead, GA): Dark maroon with bright garnet rim; smoky, raspberry, gingerbread, garrigue, floral, deep, sexy; layers of Grenache fruit, sweet, restrained ripeness though larger scaled, bitter finish, garrigue, sour cherry, plush texture; like the nobility coming through on this young CdP.

A meditative mix of the feminine charming side and the masculine brooding side of CdP, tending toward the latter, combining power and beguiling complexity. The nose is still oxygen deprived, even after breathing overnight, so one gets reductive smog on first whiff, but there is an abundance of blue and dark red fruit just beginning to surface, along with some smoke and dried herb.
After contemplating the somewhat stunned aroma, one finds the elixir altogether already ready and willing, voluptuous and generous. One tastes a deep wine, still on the tart side, loaded with plush tannins, a core of Rhone fruit of black raspberry and pomegranate, with Pinot Noir like spice and mediterranean herbs woven around the core. Built to evolve, I'd say.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Peppery, dark red berries, kirsch and ripe, black and blue fruits on the palate deliver their luscious goods. The wine was produced from 90% Grenache and assorted other allowable grape varietals.

En primeur tasting. Similar nose to the "standard" bottling. A bit more structure and stuffing, also more generous, rounder and longer. Very nice. 91-93+

Lighter mouthfeel….30 mins of air and it’s still opening / changing…clean cherries, cranberry, cassis, soft tannins…a hint of spice. Can age a few….
