Tasted this a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Quite smooth but with a few sharp edges but nothing enough to stop drinking it. I was reminded of it today when I tasted the ’19 at the Singapore Air lounge. The 19 is very young and fresh but with lovely bones that will shine in a few years. I think I’ll buy some when I get home as it’s great value if you can keep it for a few years. Great with mildly spicy food.

Deep purple. Nose of dried blackberry, blueberry, slight thyme and pepper. Very smooth, but still some tartness and integrated tanins. The finish is still long, with a some lingering anise.

Decanted. S'alright this...had it with steak and salad. Ripe black fruits, a little pepper, quite dense but not overtly tannic. Does what you'd expect a Barossa Shiraz of this price to do.

Lovely red for the $18 price, pretty smooth, nice richness & just a hint of heat from the alcohol. Improved with a bit of air, maybe another year in the bottle would be good too. Fair amount of sediment.

Rich red/purple in colour. Powerful cherry red fruit on the nose. Big smooth and soft with full flavoured mouthfeel and lingering tannin finish. A great value young Barossa shiraz.

{screwcap, 14.5%} I go with Chatters here. Big blackberry and liquorice palate, maybe a little peppery spice. Medium/full-bodied, warmly alcoholic, thick-textured despite low-level gritty tannins, low acid (aha!), and a medium-length, fruit-and-jam-dominated finish of near medium length. Objectively not a great wine, but it's a lot of flavour for the ~A$20-ish price.

Deep dark red/purple in colour. Big fruit nose showing some heavy alcohol. Big and round mouthfeel with a dry fruit finish. Much better with food. This wine is a little muddy and needs time to breath. Not as good as the 2012 vintage.

Sydney good food and wine show (Olympic Park, Homebush, Sydney): Biscuit and toast over black fruit, cream, vanilla and liquorice. In the mouth the flavours of liquorice are more to the fore with muted blackberry fruit, black pepper, chocolate, quite thick textured. Medium plus alcohol, medium plus length.

Muted initially, take around 2 hours to open up in the bottle. Med bodied / med finish.
