  • Somewhat hot nose, with hints of cassis and oak. Oak and fleshy fruit in the mouth, with distinct acidity, mild cedar perfume, and firm tannins, blending into lingering stems. Excellent pairing for fatty beef. Tannins are perhaps a little stiff on its own. Tingling from acidity and puckering from tannins provide length. I enjoyed this. Particularly good with cote de boeuf. I think this has the stuffing for more age.

  • Weekly tasting group #173; A fully blind test. (@ My place): Not really clear red color with some garnet in the rim. In the bouquet at first red fruits like cherries and raspberries, but with more air time a lot of sweet spices and vanilla from the oak appeared. Same impressions on the palate. Some dark fruits as well and a lot of vanilla. Good and mild acidity as well as tannin. The wine is ready now and has a future of a few more years, but will not significantly improve. For what I paid (less than $15) this is a very good qpr wine.
