  • Nothing special. Raspberry and cherry with a strong hint of cola. Just never really did it for me. Drank over two evenings.

  • Liked this so much I went back for a second pour. It's really a fun wine. More in the fruit forward style, but not overdone at all. Almost a nice tartness and some good complexity to it. Will be a wine I keep an eye out for in the future.

  • Loved this - lovely, brash, fruit-packed Cali Cab. Served alongside ribeyes. Life is good.

  • I love rich, red wine. And this is a good one!

I love rich, red wine. I know what I like, and I think I've got good taste. For example, I bought seven cheap red wines from Trader Joe's, and tried them all, and decided one was really good and very under-priced for how good it was.
When I went back to buy a case, there was a guy with a dolly taking out a LOT of cases of the same wine. I asked one of the employees about it, and he said that that guy owned a restaurant in town. The guy would do just what I did -- buy a bunch of their lower-priced wines and try them -- then come back and buy the good, under-priced stuff. So he and I picked the same wine as really, really good for the price.
So, Costco had Wild Horse Pinot Noir 2012 on sale in October 2014. I'd already tried it, so I bought some. Actually, I bought a lot. But I noticed, in a nearby bin, an eye-catching label for Cherry Tart Pinot Noir. I bought it because of the label. It's a pretty label, if you collect labels.
The Cherry Pie Pinot Noir has a screw cap top (very handy), so I drank some when I got home. The reviewer of this wine for the Augusta newspaper was right -- this stuff is perfect for picnics!
WOW! This wine is really, really good -- and the price at Costco is less than listed in the Augusta newspaper article!
Yum! If you love rich, red wine, try this one! I'm drinking it without any food, but also with cheese and bread.
And BTW, I have no affiliation with the winery or with Costco -- except I'm a Costco member. I LOVE Costco -- it has good deals AND it pays its employees well! I love businesses with employee continuity!
