Humble little bottle that outperforms some bigger ones. So mineral, with a hint of citrus, light touch of petrol and perfect balancing acidity. Lovely bottle. Paella and Dönnhoff. Match made in heaven.

Lemon and limes for me, over slight orchard fruit, quite lightweight, fresh and easy with sufficient acidity to offset oysters without being to sharp to have the odd sip sans food...

Good estate Riesling. Dry with a good balance of fruit and mineral notes and a good acid backbone. Medium complex, medium finish, potential for further development over the next 1-3years.

on the nose apple, lemon & lime, slight sulphur, wet stone over slight stone fruit. Sharp, crisp initially - tart crushed green apple but with those citrus elements. Beautifully balanced. Only fault, for me, it's a little short. Drink in the next 3-5 years max. Nice.

Sinceramente, un vino che stufa. Scomposto, con carbonica invadente, l'acidità appare fuori posto. Forse troppo presto? Il 2012 sembrava meglio ... mistero

My first trocken riesling from Germany. This is definitely a lot different than a kabinett. The nose is filled with mineral and iodine, there is lime zest, and just a whiff of petrol. On the palate this is much tighter, extremely fresh, and a touch tart. I had this with saag paneer which I would not recommend. The lack of sweetness makes this not great with spicier food, but I think it would be outstanding as an aperitif with fruit and cheese. The cheese would temper the acidity just enough and I think it would be fantastic.

Nose: lemons, faint honey, white flower, slate. Palate: light to medium bodied, concentrated lemon, green apple, saline / slatey minerality, and very nice crisp acidic finish. Just as good, and maybe better on day 2. Wonderful wine for the money.

Finally some dozen cases of Dönnhoff arrived our Riesling- tastinggroup at Hamburg........, tried the GG of Dönnhoff at the VDP- presentation at Berlin first, so opened a Gutswein at home, a lot of mineralic hints on the nose, slightly yellow fruit, on the palate there is the Dönnhoff acidic bite of a young Riesling, very fresh and light appearance, needs to settle a few months to get more balanced, at the moment I am missing the fun factor, maybe a very good wine for the next summer........, good finish, (**+), (85-87)

Nicely done dry Getman Riesling with a strong, addictive acidic bite. Exactly worth the price of admission!
