I haven’t had a D and R with this much age on it- this walks that fine edge between fruity and feral like many of their wines - the aromas are now a bit more funky and the fruit a bit thinner but it’s still really good.

Day 1. great nose on openning, after 2hr decant (shouldn't have done it) light, some mourv flavor on the back. Day2. Nose sart out sweet grapy, pallete was spice and full, great, nose eventually evoveld to be spice and less grapy.

Pretty red fruit. Improved aromatically with about an hour of air. Well balanced with a kinship to Cru Beaujolais in terms of texture and crunchiness. I like this a lot.

Hadn't had one of these since last May. Drank at cellar temperature, the aromatics weren't as explosive as previous bottles, but the same character was there. Beautiful strawberry, spice, and roses throughout...Palate was tasty as expected with the beautiful weightlessness that has really become D&R's signature. Gorgeous.

This bottle reinforces my belief that these D&R wines really need some more time in the bottle and/or a long decant. Right now the transformation point seems to be at about 3 hours in the decanter - I suppose it could be better with a longer decant, but I can't ever wait that long. Bright and zippy with raspberries and cherries upon opening, but deepens and adds a ton of interest with time. Still lots of bright red fruit, but also peaches, leather, earth, dark plums and a little Mourvedre muskiness. What makes this stand out is the level of complexity on such a nimble frame - Burgundy-like with a totally different palate profile. Compelling wine.

Slow ox'd an hour. The nose is high toned red fruit, crushed flowers & black pepper. Inviting palate showing bright strawberry & more pepper notes. Beautiful acidic framework here. Shows Mourvedre character, but in a completely unique way. Love the earthy/mineral character.
Paired w/ a fancy burger. This would work with a variety of dishes.

on pop n pour this showed light. reading previous tasting notes I vacuum sealed and waited for the next day. On 2nd day it reminded me of a light middle weight poulsard. Fragrant, delicates touches of acidity, earth, and tart high toned red fruit. What I find intriguing is the complicated taste profile - there is orange peel, candied ginger, violets and red currant. enjoyable. looking forward to trying others in the line up

Another great bottle. I'm still getting used to a Mourvedre that has this type of weightlessness on the palate. The rose, cherry, and strawberry flavors are intense, rich and juicy, but are airy and elegant. Can't imagine how this will be with some maturity. Holy moley.

Sunday Funday (Chicago, IL): This was revelatory. Pure strawberry juice and aromas, this was just totally open for business from the get-go (though I've heard that it's best on day three -- how it can last that long open but undrank is beyond me). The palate is a pure fruit explosion, with very, very light tannins. It's almost to the point of a very dark rose. I particularly enjoyed this served at a cooler temperature, though warming it up, I could imagine more of the aromatics would pop out.

Nose had some leafy/fallen leaves tones to it with some cranberry. The palate was just gorgeous. The red fruit really amped up and the texture was liquid silk. Had this in the decanter for about 3 hours and (as you'd expect) the last glass was the best. Delicious stuff!

Tasting Dirty and Rowdy with Hardy Wallace (Puchdown Cellars - Santa Rosa): Pop-n-pour and re-tasted after an hour of air. Dark ruby color, lovely aromatics edging on incense and patchouli, with strawberry infused fruit, middle weight, firm tannins. Very expressive with nice balance. Needs time though.

A Good Monday: Dirty & Rowdy & EDWC YEAH! Tasting in ATL: Showing it's age a bit. Only one tight that feels tired. A little heat is left behind. Moroccon spice. Cinnamon. Ultimately, it feels Slightly over the hill.

Lots of barnyard funk initially. Left half the bottle corked on the kitchen counter for 48 hours and the wine really opened up.

Dirty and Rowdy in Atlanta (Le Caveau, Chamblee, GA): Tasted from magnum, it is herbal with black cherry and a little medicinal in a good way, very drinkable, but still on the young side.
