Subtle wine with cedar, brambles, earth, bing cherries, and some blackberries. I wanted more evolution but was a nice wine with chicken. Would go well with mushrooms as well.

A refined, but somewhat subdued cab franc with herbal and cherry notes. It does not have a wow factor, but is more of an elegant wine. The acidity is much more balanced now, then when I tasted it three years ago. It went great with the classic pairing of roast chicken and potatoes

Medium deep transclucent red in glass. Muted black cherry, cherry, rasberry, mineral, light earth, herb nose. Palate much the same, moderately long. Lovely cab franc earth/herb edge on finish. Perfectly balanced with subtle tannin in that edge, nice acidity. Fruit stays fresh and deepens with airtime. Enjoyable with mushroom pasta, and on its own. Nicely done. Looking forward to trying the crus from Guiberteau.

Nose of red cherries and violets with a hint of Strawberry Twizzler peaking through.
Red apple skin, underripe cherries, purple flowers and a subtle green note that hints at under-ripeness, not herbs. Light+ bodied with subtle tannins and med+ acidity.
I'm enjoying this wine, but it's more cerebral than delicious.

After opening, intriguing nose of orange juice, strawberry, vanilla ice cream (!). Spices were smelled later. On the palate, it has a nice and firm extra bit of acidity, tastes good but not complex. I'd understand if you called it one-dimensional. Light-to-medium-bodied. Was overpowered by steak. Good casual soloist.
The next morning, it was fruit forward in the nose and pretty clear and juicy on the palate. Now, at night, it's a bit darker smelling, like plums and a bit of graphite/pencil tip. Acidity is still very present, which is great and still gives it a touch of orange juice. Finish is short and slightly bitter.
50+4+11+15+4=84, but that sounds harsh. I like it more like an 88. So let's split the difference.
I've had the house's Breze before, a great plot of Chenin Blanc. It's not as spectacular as Clos Rogeard's take on the same parcel, but it's very good and Guiberteau is a big name in natural wines. So I'm glad they make entry level red and white at €16 (in Germany). This is one of them. I am considering it in my quest for a staple party/casual drinking wine. Another front runner in that quest being www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=1781550

This is a very high acid wine, think Riesling masquerading as cab franc. The wine has not fully evolved, as it softened and opened up when I drank the rest of the bottle the next day. The wine hints of greater complexity to come. Try again in 2018

Longueur surprenante. Très digeste. Élégant & simple!

I was a bit disappointed in this wine very very light in structure and aromatics not showing much when popped n poured, then decanted it for an hour or so and it still wasn't giving up much. I'm not sure if it needs more time or it's just a wallflower?

Leather, graphite, perfectly toned regal aroma. Perfect silky texture and rounded juice with all the right amount of fruit decorated in luxury. Quite good. Much better and more interesting than I remember the first time I had this last year, but I think that's more me, not the bottle.

Clear light red. Graphite and not a lot of Cabernet Franc herbs or pungency. Light to medium weight, some cherry fruit but more smoky soil from beginning to end. I'm not impressed with this at all.

Dark crimson to purple color. Nose of dark berries and stems. Similar on the palate with some cherry and tar. Good tannic balance. Typical characteristics of a Loire Cabernet Franc but a step up in body and balance compared to most. Very enjoyable.

Très plaisant saumur d'entrée de gamme qui dépasse les autres entrées de gamme d'une tête. Peu végétal, terrien, belle acidité et profondeur correcte à ce prix et cette maturité.

Light to medium ruby. More earth than herbs on the nose. Light, lots of soil, faint red fruit. Fairly gentle style with lower acidity, pretty striking in terms of how incredibly acidic the Saumur blanc is in this vintage. OK but not more.

A nice red. Took some time to open up so would've benefitted from a decant. Nice earthy nose. Needs a bit of time.
