Nose of raspberry, rhubarb, earth and smoke. Somewhat reductive too. Palate is a little austere, tight and firm, not a lot of "love" - raspberry, mulberry, sour cherry, smoke and earth, twiggy notes too - some whole bunch suspected. It makes you think. Some slight heat on the finish detracts.

Colour translucent ruby red with pink/crimson edges 15/15 Nose medium intensity ,mainly primary fruit Strawberry and red cherry and slight hint of confectiony 26/30 Palate medium intensity , mainly fruit driven good balance silky tannins medium finish 38/44 Overall lacks complexity at this stage that said very drinkable with the popular MV6 clone but for $60 I was expecting more. Meh... 8/11

Semi-translucent deep ruby-purple. Red cherry redcurrant bouquet with hints of loam, black raspberry & strawberry, meat, black olive, spice & savory oak. Medium plus to medium full, quite deep, intense, juicy, vibrant red & black berry fruits, embellished with meat & subtle oak notes & well supported by some silky ripe tannins, traces of chalky extracts & fine balancing acidity. Long well-defined finish.

(tasting@YabbyLake) [// w Red Claw] Similar, yet darker richer nose than Red Claw – ash, struck match, plums, raspberry. Tight intensity, lush juiciness, tall silky tannins, elegantly structured. Still young.

Pinot-palooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): Touches of red currant under strawberry, sweet spice, very slight green notes. In the mouth the wine is juicy but with green notes and quite tough and chewy tannin dominating some muted red berries

Moncur Cellars Pinot Noir (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Muted cherry, sweet spice, slight stalkiness and an earthy quality. In the mouth the wine is juicy and flavoursome with savoury red and black berries, stalks, fine textured tannins that are none the less a little chewy. Long. Nice.

Really nice Pinot. Good fruit with perfect ripeness. A bit of body helps.

Rich and yet stalky. I’d have to be in exactly the right mood for this type of wine to like it.

Yabby Lake New Releases Tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): A classic, Mornington Penninsula nose with vibrant red cherry fruits and dried herbs. The palette has a mouth-filling texture with a firm tannin grip.
