Very nice. Had two bottles before, both in 2015. Now at a level quite a few notches up. Rich dark fruits is the first thing to notice, but nice grip and a long finish adds nice complexity. Finish has fruit, but also some graphite and maybe just a hint of oak. Rest assured the oak is perfectly integrated. This is a very nice wine and a steal at the price point.

Decanted 1 hour before, did not contain sediment. Nice classy old style Rioja. Loads of vanilla, black berries, smooth tannins, ceder, pine needles. Went very well with a nice piece of entrecôte.

Decanted an hour before dinner. Classic Rioja, already quite mature. Tobacco with underlying fruit, a bit spicy, good acidity, medium(+) body and length. Quite elegant, only the heat preserves it from a higher rate and is therefore not the best vintage of this wine. No need to wait any longer but also no signs of decline, drink now or in the next four to six years, 88+.

Tempranillo 90%, Garnacha 3%, Mazuelo 4% and Graciano 3%
Medium to full body, mature cherry red color. Dominant floral and balsamic aroma complements by red fruits, spicy oak and tobacco notes. Black cherry and blueberry on the palate, long woody finish. Rich and powerful, silky texture, complex and well balanced, lovely berry acidity, high but well integrated, firm tannins. Food friendly, best match is meat or rice dishes. Open about one hour in advance. Serve 18º - 24º. Completely matured, drink now and next three/five years.

Drank in Madrid. Elegant garnet color all the way to the edge. Beautiful body and nice legs. Nose of sandlewood and Bing cherries. Spicy notes of sandlewood and light pepper, with a finish of Bing cherry and vanilla ( think 31 Flavors Cherry Jubilee ice cream). Needed to be open a bit to resolve. It would overpower fish, chicken and veal, but good with heavier dishes, almost like an American Pinot. Very drinkable and delightful.

DHWine. Cherry red with red/black berry nose and a hint of fennel. Berries on the palate also with notes of fennel. Good alone but better with food (tasted with blue cheese, sun-dried peppers, Spanish tortilla, ham and cured meat sausage).

At a restaurant, from memory. This was clearly young and rich and exuberant, but in a controlled way and keeping good balance. Ripe red fruit, but already with good complexity. Very good.

Simple dinner at home. Dark garnet to the rim. Surprised that this Reserva is style-wise much closer to the Tondonia a few days ago than to CVNE and Lan. Slow ox'ed for an hour or so. Clearly oxidative on the nose and palate. While this is not my preferred style, it works ok for me here (as opposed to the recent Tondonia 02) since those oxidative notes are matched by generous, initially rather tight wound, dark fruit. This fruit also helps balance the American oak. Unlike those other few Rioja, here I find nice balance. Medium finish. Very good.

Color rojo granatoso, ribete granatoso bien vivo, capa media y fina lágrima suavemente tintada.

Love this Rioja. It is one of the few Riojas left that are traditional to the core.

Wine Education Service - Rioja Reservas and Gran Reservas (LSE): Fairly youthful, opaque.
Pleasant nose, fruity, hint of oak.
Gentle fruity attack, soft tannins, smooth, good length.
