Medium yellow color. Nose of pair, apple. Medium body, complex palate, fruit oriented finish with balanced minerality and acidity. Very interesting wine.

I really loved this wine. Not mainstream at all. Clearly a slight funk on the nose here. Aromas of seashell, biscuit, beer, yeast, dry soil, mineral, flint, kiwi, and a hint of matchstick. Complex, interesting and engaging. A tad bitter on the palate, with acid that isn't as cutting as other muscadet, but there is a lot going on, repeating many of the flavors of the nose. Lovely.

From one of my favorite producers anywhere. Guy Broussard always shows elegant, straight-forward, non-fussy skilled winemaking. The granite has subtle notes of lemon, minerals, and white flowers. Highly acidic and direct. Beautiful in showcasing what it is and where it is from - nothing more.

The additional year in the cellar paid off - this has gone from full on acid/mineral/saline to fleshing out a bit and adding some depth and viscosity to the palate. Really enjoyed it.

Fidèle à lui-même, bien sec, joliment nuancé, grande fraicheur, belle minéralité avec une légère salinité. Pas aussi bon et racé que le 2011 par contre..

The Muscadets from Domaine De L'ecu are some of my favorite wines anywhere any time. The Granite is lean and straightforward, pale straw in color. Steely minerality on the nose. Bone dry and direct. Salinic. It is restrained elegance, both thirst quenching and nuanced.

Interesting wine, be sure to give it time to open up. It was much more interesting on day 2 - flavors saw massive development and the color dropped several shades of gold.

At first I wasn't that impressed with the wine. However, over the course of a couple hours I noticed a marked improvement. Please allow this wine some air and don't drink too cold. This wine has what you are looking for in a muscadet: good acidity, minerality, and a saline note. However, I most enjoyed the hint of mint that developed over time.

On aime bcp! Très bon RQP. 90+
Handled appropriately (i.e. drank alongside a 2013 Pepiere Briords at Pawleys Island with a cooler full of Olde Salt oysters). I really enjoyed this. It didn't stand up to the Briords, which is what I was curious to see, but that just means it's very good rather than the best. It's tough to unseat the best.
Since I drank these head to head it's easiest for me to recall them in comparison. The Ecu was melon to the Briords' lemon and rock to the Briords' brine. My overall impression of the Ecu was of river water, while the Briords was seawater.

Pale yellow. Light nose of marzipan and chalk. Lively attack of tart sweet fruit on the midpalate melting into a high finish with lingeringacid notes. A crisp compelling wine, would be interesting to see what it does with age. 50 + 17 + 16 + 8.
Not a detailed note, but this has come together nicely since my last one. Sharp, good crackling fruit, lovely mineral nose (granite indeed!). I might go for a 90 this time.

Pale yellow. Melon, lemon rind, sea air on the nose, also a hard to pin down crusty mineral note. Crisp, crackling attack on the palate, slush of lemon fruit, keen edged acid finish. Refreshing as a clear mountain stream, quite severe. 50 + 16 + 15 + 8.

A fairly round Muscadet, which is not to say it’s round by any other standard. River rocks and green melon.

Drank from magnum. Drinking well now, not signs of deterioration. Quite soft and round, in a positive way.

A smooth Muscadet that did not have the usual sharpness associated with it. Very pleasant.
