A few years since the first/last one, this is drinking well. It's a nice New Year's Day wine with cider braised pork, black eyed peas, and caramelized onion mashed potatoes tonight. Ruby and clear. Smells like red fruits, roses, earth, fennel, dill, soil, cedar, and dry leaves. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of red fruits and spice, lemon, black tea, and minerals. Restrained style, but with a bit of complexity. Really nice.

The whole cluster really shines here with a ton of stem spice integrated with the black cherry fruit. This was pop n pour and could have used an hour of air to flesh out a bit more. Very good but give it a couple more years or a 1-2 hours of air.

Blind. Poured off into in a 150ml bottle and tasted ~4-5 hours later. I was sure this was Burgundy with its earth-toned cherry fruit and toasted herb aromas. Texturally so elegant with more earth and clay accents to the cherry fruit.

Served blind. I really enjoyed this wine. The aromatics had the seducing rose petal note that I love in PN. Red fruited, with cherry, loam and a lovely texture, with a finish then tightens down with structure. I like how this wine was made and for the potential it shows once the structure softens.

PnP. dark ruby/burgundy color with translucence. Nose intense, light herbs and florals leavening rich fruits with some marzipan. Palate lacquered black cherry, a hint of vanilla at first that fades with time, likely just the prominent fruit needing to settle down in the glass a bit; dry finish, per J some black tea flavors; prominent mineral and iron. Opens up a lot with time; would decant at this stage; still has a lot of stuffing. 93 pts with upside

Gifted this bottle to my friend Caroline last year, and she opened it with us tonight, so that was pretty cool. Ruby color with transparency. Aromatically tight on the pop, but opened up to reveal rose petals, cedar, cinnamon, tar, orange peel, and red fruit. Medium body, high acid, long, explosive finish, with big red fruit, but smooth and balanced, and loads of spice, cinnamon, and orange peel. Really solid. Think I'll age mine a few more years and it could be really nice.

This last was so good. I inserted it in between a 2013 Bertheau CM and a 2013 Fourrier GC VV, and man did it have a fine showing. This had the same precociousness as the other two. It was crunchy and textured, with a pretty, all it own Oregon red fruit attack. The fruit was light red, opaque, with pretty spice, a lovely sweetness, light body, and airy, with plenty of spice. Just great wine.

Winery tasting. Pow, this is hugely aromatic and perfumed. Sexy cherry fruit accented with spice, herbs and stemmy florals. The palate has great concentration and intensity. Despite the power, there is a weightlessness and perfume as it crosses the palate. A favorite in the lineup. Pricey at $90, but worth it given what's in the bottle.

This is a beautiful Pinot that is pure and effortless. It is airy and billowy, quite easy (literally) to see through. It is driven by perceptions of red fruit, soil, bright acidity, and follows through "lip smacking" and leaves me wanting more. I would love to throw this bottle in with a Rhys and a Kutch one night... Yes it's that good.
I just ordered more of these from Todd today!!!

First go round with the higher-end BH PNs: dark purplish red, brooding, a bit closed in as yet, quite tannic. Needs time, as is often the case with the BH lineup.

Disappointing, the weakest of the Pinot Noirs on display tonight. Thin and acidic, some tart cherry fruit, short.
