The word that is brought to the fore us “crystalline.” Burnt orange / reddish brown but clear. The nose is relatively quiet but with air earth tones dominate a subtle fruit base. On the palate there is a clear ring of cherry and a silky line of acid to the attack, and a fluid and clear mid palate that leads to soil dominant features and a medium long clear finish.

3.5 years after the prior, and alas, our last: this was absolutely lovely. Translucent copper/orange, with a touch of brown. Still very much full of lovely savory character, with, now, just a suggestion of pleasant funk. Highly enjoyable and very versatile with a variety of foods over three nights. We will have to look for recent vintages.

Our sixth. Consistent with our prior note, sorry to have only one more. Dark fruit. Earth, minerality, precision, freshness. No hint of funk. Very enjoyable over three nights.

The nose on this shows a very dense fruit, as well as some earthy funk (not decaying earth, but rather of a more mineral type). The palate is clean and crisp, with plenty of sweet red fruit. There's good acidity, crisp fruit, and a very nice lightness here. This is soft and eminently drinkable, and likely just a bit better if served slightly chilled.

Light, lively, and easy to drink but this is not to say that it is a simple wine - there is quite a lot happening in the glass. Shows elements of soft rose petal, warm cherry, vibrant cranberries, and fresh herbs. Clean, expressive, distinctive mineral finish.
Still loving this wine, but not as much as the bottle I had last year. Love the red apple and tart strawberry aromas, but the white pepper, pickle, brine and wilted flowers take front row. Light tannins, light-bodied, crisp acidity, a lip-smacking wine. Tart red apples and pomegranate with lots of earth, pepper, horseradish and pickle flavors. Great pairing with a bunch of Indian food. I find this wine delicious and weird, but some may find it just weird. While I dig this wine, I think it's on heading down the hill. If I had more, I'd drink up in a year or so.

Pours a light, cloudy cherry red tinged with rust. Nose of wild strawberries and white pepper with faint hints of chalk and red apple skin.
Ready on pop and pour, the immediate impression is a similarity to an aged red Burgundy, but with a brighter acidity. The palate generally follows the nose, with wild strawberry, white pepper, red apple skin, minerals and sour cherry. The acidity comes off very bright, like fresh squeezed lemon juice, but without the lemon flavor. Light+ bodied with barely perceptible tannins.
There's a lot going on here; you'd be hard-pressed to find more complexity in this price range. Great QPR. 11.5%abv.
Nice stuff. It has that feature common to lots of Jura reds where it shows lovely aromatics more characteristic of a wine with a couple of decades of age on it but also has some lovely sour cherry fruit that shows some youth and vigor. Bright acidity, light weight on the palate. Good with food. Very happy with this.

Isaac nailed this one perfectly. Everything he said. He liked it a bit more than me. Enjoyable but has that Jura Poulsard, Swabian Trollinger nose that I enjoy but which makes me wonder about longevity.

Pale rosewater color. Nose of red apple peel, wild strawberry, wet earth, white pepper, pickle, rose petals. Bright and sharp acidity, light profile with tannins like chalk dust, lots of freshness and zip. Sour cherries, pomegranate, wild strawberries, but the fruit is tossed together with mineral, chalk, and red zinger tea. Complex elements of White pepper, some garlic pickle, dusty earth. Delicious example of Ploussard that was perfect to with salad and charcuterie on an early September evening.

Very similar to our last note, with especially lovely pepper showing through. We liked it so much over three or four nights (chilled even more than we usually do, because of the hot weather) we bought yet two more.

Super light and translucent and yet this packs in a ton of flavor. Earthy (beets) and floral as others have noted. Nice acidity. Definitely not for many, probably not for most, but that's good news for those of us who enjoy these.

Light, translucent. Lovely pepper notes. This reminds us of a good Swiss Dole. Very nice. Every well made wine has its place, and this bottle, over three nights, earned a place for two more of its siblings in our cellar.

Saturday Afternoon at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): Another beautiful bottle! Stemmy and spicy with dark edges to a mostly red-fruited profile. Tons of depth and character on the palate too with lots of elegant floral notes, a dense spicy note, and airy red fruits.

Saturday Fun at Domaine (Chicago, IL): This has a nose that's a ringer for Leroy -- very fragrant dirt. The palate is a lot lighter than the trousseaus next to it, and this has a very feminine quality about it. Nonetheless, there's acidity and tannins to help the backbone hold its shape. I did get a little bit of stemminess on this one too (I've no idea if these wines are whole-cluster fermented or not).

Yes, Isaac's description is on for us. We enjoy this most recent bottle over three nights. We found translucent and earthy strawberry, and again the smoky white pepper aspects are just lovely. Not a wine for everyone, and all the better for that.

Extremely light in color and body—almost closer to a heavy rosé than a light red. Drinking this, I was immediately reminded of Sean Thackrey's Pleiades XXIII in that the wine showed bright cranberries, brush herbs, white flowers, and just the slightest hint of funk. Mouthwatering acidity and bright red fruits on the palate. This is to be drunk now, not in a serious way, but with great pleasure. A great value to boot. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.

Very light in color, with airy floral and earthy notes throughout. My father throught I had poured him a rose...it was that light and floral. Beautiful Poulsard with integrated tannins and a nice amount of earthen notes. Beautiful.

Beautiful nose of red flowers and bright red fruits with a moderate earthy undertone. Light body with medium plus acidity, redolent red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and a chalky minerality. The acidity gives this a brightness and lift, making it good on its own and great with food.

Total joy: Vivacious, wild strawberry juiciness followed by some thyme and herb. Makes you want to keep reaching for another glass, and with this ABV, you can. It's the joy of mountain wines. Acidity and verve makes this extremely versatile: I could equally envision this wine with a good braise, a pizza, and a Sunday picnic. Drink up, AFWE (thanks, EricinDC).

Upon opening, a really light, almost orangish/rose colored wine. Superb nose of tart red fruit, earth, and a hint of strong acidity. Taste evolved significantly over 4 hours. Much better after hour 2 and kept on improving. Superb complexity, with a wonderful taste of light red fruits (ever so lightly sweet fruit); strong earthy notes; strong, but not overwhelming, acid; great minerality, light greenness, with a touch of bitter tannins. Great long finish. Fantastic. Note, this is not for everyone. If you like fruit bombs, stay away. Firmly in the AFWE wheelhouse at 11.5% alcohol. This will be able to age.

Very peppery, strawberry, slightly oxidative, sharp acidity, some heat, touch of wet dog through the finish. Not a particularly refreshing profile.
