This was reasonable balanced, nowhere near as resplendent as other wines tonight but would be acceptable to many as a decent accompaniment to a hearty meal

I liked this quite a bit more than the bottle four months ago. Ripe but balanced, easy and none of the too-funky rusticity I picked up previously. Solid choice to pair against casual fare coming off the grill.

I don't remember if this was a mystery wine from Garagiste, or just one of their regular offerings. But what a smoking deal! I had this with my wine group at a NYC pizza place. It is a great pizza wine.
Ruddy crimson color with some mild bricking around the edges, showing the wine is mid-age, but not completely dead. Rich aromas of sage brush and raspberry fruit. Makes me think 'southern France'. Flavors of ripe fruit and underbrush. Slightly silky palate feel with some mildly rustic tannic characteristics. Medium to short finish, not too hot, fairly pleasant. Overall a great wine to have with my pizza. I was pleased.

Dark and deep black fruit, baked earth, scrub brush, but also some funky notes, comes across really rustic to me, even if it does a good job keeping the dense, ripe fruit upright. Good enough wine over a couple of nights, but I never really grooved on this.

In damn good shape, not nearing the end of its peak at all, and not likely to do so for at least three years. Very prominent hot black rock, cured meat, spice, and leather support the ripe red/purple fruit better than ever on the nose, and a tense but expressive palate carry the essence of those aromatics elegantly through the finish. Tannins start soft on a medium-light body but get coarser as the wine picks up weight with some air. Plum skin and licorice root pop up on the medium finish and tie it all together nicely. Delicious and only as serious as you want or need it to be.

This is a fantastic red for $8.99 via Garagiste, with the venerable Anne Gros being involved, I had hoped so … and wasn't disappointed. Quite elegant for the region/blend.

I really like this wine. Rustic and honest, it's dark and juicy with surprisingly good balance. Food friendly but fine on it's own. Nearly perfect for Wednesday night at under $10.

No Detailed Notes - This wine was absolutely singing tonight, hitting the sweet spot of smooth maturity with just enough vibrance and acid. Dark complected, stoney, and delicious.

essentially the same tasting note... garrigue aromas > fruit, fullish texture, balanced.... drinking at its peak. made me think if grenache as it ages by definition doesn't have the clarity of fruit of some other varietals and maybe it's not a negative. "good" wine

Dark red color with viscus texture. Some sediment. Cherry cola aromas with a little heat. Meaty dark cherry flavor with a lengthy acidic zip that makes this great with food. Not bad on its own either.

deeply colored, red rim. on the palate moderately aromatic with monotonous red and dark fruit, noticable garrigue aromas, no new oak. on the palate moderate acids, lots of flesh on the midpalate, moderate amount of tannins that are already very well integrated, moderate alcohol. balanced wine with ok length, good intensity, ok complexity. very true to place... balanced, and a bit muddled on the fruit. drink now. at just under $9 very good QPR.

Really good - tart, moderately tannic. Black fruit core, red fruit on the edges. Good depth. Incredible for the price. If measuring by QPR, this is a 96.

Day 2, Mondavi Bordeaux glass Dark purple with a watery thin meniscus, the aromas are all dark fruit, cement, and a touch or herbaceous lift. Somewhat silky, with fine grained tannins that are nearly resolved, the black fruits and herbaceous notes dominate the palate with a touch of iron on the backside. Relatively simple, but entirely approachable as a dark complected quaffer with right meal. Good to great QPR for a weekday, or event wine that will be well regarded without demanding attention.

Pretty kick-@ss little wine. Definitely need to decant. I'd say the "drink by" date on this one is way off. Still very nice and no sense of fading. Got a bunch in the cellar. Fantastic qpr! Nice balance, good acidity, nice light fruit. I think I need to experiment and put one bottle away for a couple more years, just to see.

Pretty much ditto to notes below. Light on its feet, energetic, yet with good expression on the palate and finish. Impressed with its cleanliness; unusually civilized for these grapes in this region. Though there's maybe half a teaspoon of sediment after a proper 30-day horizontal rest, decanting is recommended more for freshening than desedimentation, to amplify the fruit relative to the tannins.

Some sediment on top, a bit mild and rough at first but two hours after decanting became quite smooth and very drinkable, good flavor and a very nice finish. Buy again.

Wine is a clear med + purple in the glass; perhaps slightly more blue than your average Grenache. The nose is incredibly friendly with tons of cherry cola, thyme and rosemary. The palate is refreshing with tongue tingling acidity and a gentle nudge from the tannins. The wine continues to show hints of game and pepper as it opens up. A gentle florality and the finish lingers generously.

Red fruit, dust and some earthy tones on the nose. The palate is quite light, adding black pepper, licorice and juicy fruit. Smooth, silky mouthfeel, medium acidity and persistent tannins. Long mid-toned delicious finish. The overall impression with the juicy fruit and the structure reminds me for some reason of Cru Beaujolais (excluding maybe the acidity), and would work well with similar food pairings.
