Intense yellow gold. The wine is fully developed and starts declining. Tertiary aromas are prevailing. Full of mushrooms. Marked acidity of 2002.
La Chablisienne own 75% of the climat. True Chateau principle as they have the facilities in the vineyard. The smallest Chablis GC with SW exposure. 40yo vines. Accentuated oak. Maturation 14mo both in oak and steel vats.
2nd of 6. Not overly complex but a classic grand cru chablis that is showing very well after 14 years. Stoney with good acidity and some biscuity hints. Still fresh. 4/5

Opening an older bottle of chablis is always like a non-lethal game of Russian Roulette: thankfully no premox with this, my last bottle of this wine! Just starting to gain secondary notes, there some light butterscotch and truffle notes on the medium bodied palate. A little lighter than some grand crus, but a well balanced, nicely concentrated and mineral laced wine with plenty of time left (if premox doesn't get it). We really enjoyed this bottle last night (A-).

Honey, flowers, stones, citrus and ripe yellow fruit on the enjoyable open nose. On the palate this is fresh and ripe at the same time, with complex fruit-honey-stone-citrus flavors. Lingering, long aftertaste with mineral overtones. Shows a real sense of place and is at peak.

Typical Chardonnay scents of buttery toast, almonds, and ripe pears. We do get the butterscotch taste along with minerality, a bit of citrus, and tropical fruits. Nice concentration and length, lots of well-integrated oak, and it went away fast with guests so it must be good.

1st Annual Chablis and Spot Prawn Dinner (Chez Rasoul): Tasted blind – Going away from our classic Chablis trend, this offered notes of guava, tropical fruits and hints of butterscotch. This was quite ripe and exotic and had me thinking that might be another ringer. On the palate it’s dense and exotic with ripe citrus and orchard fruit flavours. There are some hints of minerality that come through on the finish along with decent acidity but this has my stumped. This is notably riper than the 04 Dauvissat Preuses served before it. Very good.

Developing nicely, there's the butterscotch note on the nose and palate now, and there's nice power and concentration on the medium bodied palate. Lots of minerals still too. Still a baby, but a lovely chablis (A-).

Golden in colour, with a lovely, powerful nose full of minerals, honey, and musty fruit. Classic chablis on the palate too, with a pretty rich mouthfeel (one person would have liked more acidity, but I didn't think it was an issue), more mineral notes, a hint of lime, and a lovely finish. Fairly evolved for a 2002, but I'm glad to have 2 more bottles to stash away for several years. Very nice chablis (A-).

Unremarkable colour. On the nose asparagus and pizza dough. The taste is creamy, dry, rather flavourless/non-intrusive, I didn't get any mineral or flint - more chalky on the 'geology'. A nice lingering aftertaste - zesty, then finishes dry and crisp and remains a full minute - would be great with oysters. A likeable wine, but at 29 pounds, pricy for the result.

Nose is rather closed. However, there are clear hints of honey, blossom, ripe yellow fruit and complex minerals. On the palate this is rich and mouth coating, almost sweet, but with very refreshing typical Chablis-acidity and minerality. Very complex, lots of material but primary at this stage. Will surely blossom into something great. A bit better then the 2000 I tasted recently, and that one was great also.

note de souffre au nez (vin légèrement réduit), miel d'accacias, mûres, acidité et dynamique. Déplaisant - le vin est peut-être un peu trop vieux.
