I used two prong remover, good pop, cork started pushing in but only when the prongs were fully inserted. Day one, it was muted but day two is when the wine emerged with lovely fruit, not quite delicate, but really nicely fruity. Acid walks in step with fruit. In fact such a nice balance that can't say which is the star. There is a menthol and tobacco finish that appears after about ten seconds. Not like other Brunellos I've had. Really a step up from 2020 tasting. The extra time improved this. 94 for me because this is unique. Tannins not aggressive and present at finish. Real kirsch cherry, maybe balaton cherry. I've had this opened and vacuum sealed for almost a week, and it never fell apart or developed skunky flavors. Went very well with food.

Ten years seemed the right time to check this out. Wine consumed over 2-3 day period. First day, nice bouquet, cork stained light purple. Tart, but nice acidity, and fruit was a little more laid back than anticipated. Went extremely well with food, especially pasta. Did not fade after 3 days in bottle. If i recall, threw a little sediment in the last glass. Decent Brunello that should satisfy, not in top tier, but very passable, as wine not aggressive or tannic. Not certain what might still emerge with more aging, so recommend consuming now and aging perhaps 5 more years.

Pop and pour. Cellared at 55f since release. Agree with other review that wine is still tight, tannins quite present but fruit strong. Hold for at least a year or two, or consider time decanting. This wine has more to offer than we experienced tonight. Strong potential.

Tight and austere, this needed 2 hour decant to open up. Notes of cherry, crushed rocks, and hint of mint. No roasted fruit or oakiness present. Medium+ bodied, medium finish. This is drinking well now but will likely improve in the near term (+91).

Pretty potent out of the gate. Black cherry, new leather, petrol, tar. Very forward. Finishes with moderate length and spice. Tannins integrated, good acidity. Not particularly layered. Drank over 90 mins after 90 mins of air in bottle.
Day 2, this had disintegrated: prune-forward fruit cup and rubber.
Drink soon.

Delicious, clean and well structured. The backbone has moderate acid that balances well with the fruit. The tannins have evolved and are perfect for this wine.

Followed up the 2012 Antinori Tignanello (too young currently) and outshone that wine. Intense from start to finish with spice and and dark fruit prominent followed by a luscious, long, and intense finish. Ready to drink now. A gem at the price.

Decanted for two hours, then drank over next two. First impression was intense fruit nose- cherry and cranberry? Tannins were front and center with a slightly harsh finish. Put glass down and revisited a hour hour later, and was already improving nicely. Fast forward another hour and the tannins had settled down and the elegance emerged. Great nose, medium bodied, with a smooth finish.
92 points today, but in 3 years this baby will be singing. In 5-8 years? I could see this being one of the champions from this epic vintage.
At roughly $60 per bottle, if you can find this, grab several and forget about until 2020.

Mike G and Berto visit Cleveland (Italian wines)+ (Willoughby, Ohio): I think Mike G. bought this on his way into town. A producer I was not familiar with. It is outstanding already. This is a big fruity wine, but not necessarily "modern". The nose has great big cherry fruit with tobacco, some oak/cedar and also a rosemary note that tends to make this seem more rustic almost. Very nice. On the palate, there is not the complexity of the nose yet. Its a big brawny, juicy glass of cherries with some licorice. Give it some to settle out, and this should really show well. No idea on the pricing, but if I ever see this producer at a reasonable price, I will hop on it.

Benvenuto Brunello 2015 (2010 Brunello di Montalcino) (Gotham Hall, NYC): Voliero is new name for me, but one which is sure to become known; the ‘10 showed a youthful yet vibrant bouquet of dark-red berries, sweet floral notes and hints of wild herbs. It was fruit-focused yet lifted and seemed to waft up continuously from the glass. The palate was driven with cool, radiant red fruit, which seemed to coat the senses. Utterly classic on the finish and guaranteeing an easy decade of development with hints of tart, bitter fruit lingering long.

Dried dark fruit, mineral, slate. Long. Good, but not spectacular, especially considering the vintage.

Color is picking up some beautiful brown/orange. Nose is heavenly - elegant, cherry and flowers. Really smooth on the palate, very enjoyable.

More of an elegant style of Brunello. No vegetable character, bright, red fruit, silky mouth feel. Really good

Incredibly light in color for Sangiovese - strong cherry with hints of tabacco and vanilla. Nice finish but will try again in 6 months
