Spiced chocolate and cherry nose. Sour cherry is prominent with blackberry, walnut, licorice, worcestershire, leather and cocoa followed by citrus acidity and light cocoa tannin. A warm spice finish changes to feature each of the palate notes as it reaches room temp. Decanted and given time to air, the sour cherry rounds and gives way to mineral while the other complexities become reticent. First and second glass are like 2 different wines; the first, sharp and complex, the second, soft and round. Interesting

Weekly tasting group #204; A fully blind test. (@ DJ): Raspberry and cherry lemonade in the bouquet. On the palate a clearly new world sweet start. Mild acidity and tannin. Clean wine, but nothing to write a book about.

Weekly tasting group #188; Fully blind test plus 3 extra wines (@ DJ): Purple red. Cherries and red berries in the creamy and lactic bouquet. On the palate cherries as well, a lot of sweetness and also ok acidity. Soft tannin. Imho the wine lacks some bite to be interesting, but maybe time will help a bit. For now a correct, easy going and youthful wine.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, currents, vanilla spiced finish, easy drinking. www.winelx.com

A Few Value Reds from Chile & Argentina: Light purple color. Deeper aromatics than the regular Alamos bottling, more blackberry, some blueberry, noticeably smoky and earthy with a solid dose of pepper black pepper and soy sauce. Medium+ bodied with velvety tannins and slightly less than medium acid. The blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit is juicy but tamed. Quite complex in terms of the smoke, charcoal, vanilla, black tea and black pepper notes. Impressive finish, very good for the price. Aged in French and American oak for 9-12 months.

Dark color typical of Malbec. Aromas of dark berries. Full-bodied, but not particularly special.

Black cherry, some loam and a touch of bell pepper. Some tannins present in the mouth. Decent wine, but not really my style
