well i dont think i am into older wines , this is based on similar experience , from another wine. But apart from that i still think one should expect an abundance of notes both on the nose and the palate. This has not been the case with this bottle i had , tried it in Zalto Universal and Bordeaux glass. On the nose there are notes of prunes and iodine brown sugar.........on the Palate i do find dry prunes and it is simply dying out , maybe the bottle is not good.....but i think its past its best time....the colour is brown burnt clay pottery.

My 11th bottle. Decanted for about 6 hours. Probably drank these way too early as each bottle from the case has gust gotten better and better. Still very dark with notes of bark, sour cherries, red fruits, forest floor and a bit of finishing sweetness. So 10 years should be a minimum and I think it could last another 20. Buried the last bottle derp in the cellar for another 5-7. So I will post another not then. :-).

This wine has finally hit its stride. Nice deep crimson color that just fades a bit at the rim. The nose screams Tuscany. Fresh cut flowers, hay, leather, wood and honey, which provides a nice sweet finish. I’m sure this will live for many more years and I plan to keep a few to see what unfolds. Worth waiting for.

Into a decanter for about an hour before I pour the first glass. Still black as midnight. Does not look like a 10 year old wine. A beautiful nose of dry cranberries, dry roses, a bit of honey, and just the hint of cardamom. This is in a very nice place but there is no rush. This is still a bit on the lean side but that’s a product of the vintage. Nice tannic bite at the end that keeps this interesting and fresh. I’m grilling a big fat sirloin, roasted potatoes and creamed spinach, which only enhance the beauty of the wine. Great Chianti in a very good place.

A few hours in the decanter. Quite lovely. Deep dark color. And a nose that screams cinnamon, cloves and rust. Perfect balance that emphasizes the fruit and honey. Best bottle yet. Chianti doesn’t get better than this. Had a big glass left overnight. This wine has only gained in complexity and sweetness. Really really good. Love Felsina as a producer.

Opened and put into a decanter. Back up Boyle to a corked ‘06 Brunello. Very dark crimson with no signs of bricking at all. Dusty rose, cranberries, orange rind and dirt. First sip a bit tannic and lean. A bit oaky and the legs coat the entire glass. Let’s see how this opens as I would usually open many hours in advance. Wow. A 1/2 hour in the glass this reavels a beautiful palate of dark fruit, coco powder, bitter orange rind. This is still very primary and could use another few years to smooth out and gain complexity. Nice start but it has a long life ahead.

Second bottle. Similar as first one. I slowoxed for 6 hours and then another 4 in the decanter. Still black as night, great legs and faint nose. This is just a lean wine that’s on the tannic side, not the fruit side. This is why I bought only one case from the 2011 vintage. Chianti should be generous with fruit and framed with nice tannin and acid to balance rich food. Average at best.

Opened for several hours. This is a really refined and balance wine. Very dark with beautiful legs. Nice nose of fruit, fresh flowers and bright red fruit. Totally in balance with deep fruit charcoal, hot rocks and tar. Very big wine that probably needs another 3-7 years. Huge tannins that overwhelm the fruit. Maybe needs more time open/decanted. We will see.

Perfectly mature, old-world, textbook Chianti. Another year or two could soften the oak further and integrate everything more perfectly, so if you want to wait, go ahead. But I'm finishing off my case this summer, with kudos to the makers.

Medium bodied. Red berry/cherry flavors, oak & cocoa. Consumed prior to a 2007 Oreno. I must say great QPR for this wine, drinks bigger than most Chianti's - very nice.

Enjoyed for lunch at " Bottega Di Giovannino" in Radda Chianti, this is blowing with good perfume of red berries, transparent acidity, racy and perfectly good with the food.

DTC 90 - 100 Parker Points wines (@ PvdB): Beautiful bouquet with red berries, herbs and good oak. On the palate dark berries, herbs, oak, firm and juicy acidity as well as sticky tannin which is a bit drying. Good length and still very youthful. Wait 5+ years.

Mineral nose and a bit clised, but really unfolds in the palate, broad flavours. Great structure with strong tannins and acid in balance. Long lasting. The fontodi is a tad better but i discount the higher price. This is the best price/quity optimum. Let it breathe.

Kommersiell chianti med 14% alko. Litt lukket men frisk sammensatt duft av kirsebær, anis, hint av tobakk. Grei fatbruk. Søt start, fyldig midtparti men bra syre innover.
