Excellent and drank very well after breathing all afternoon, needs air. A rustic note that we could not quite place. Otherwise 100% varietally correct, some Zin spice, still some tannins but otherwise everything was integrated very well, long finish. Nose and taste was like drinking from a well of complexity, something different with each taste - licorice? cedar? Elegant, but not light-bodied in the least - stood up and paired well with a grilled porterhouse, I would call it more than medium-bodied, not overly extracted, not a fruit bomb, just excellent Napa Valley Zin fruit.

I think these folks are underrated. It’s a refreshing style in the context of Cali Zinfandel. Ripe but cool-toned fruit with legit acidity that carries the wine across the palate as opposed to thudding you with viscous dead weight. No lack of concentration here. Just a different take on Zin that is nice break from the norm.

A: Deep ruby with purple highlights N: Blackberry jam, cherry, vanilla, spice, smoke cedar and Tammy got pyrazine...i thought it might be just black pepper P: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, medium (+) intensity and finish with a full body. High alcohol C: Drink now. Way too jammy and so out of balance. Good quality wine though.
GUESSES: Alcohol and jam hame at New World hot climate. The grape escaped me.
MISTAKES: I just couldn't get the tell-tale tart and ripe thing. Also, couldn't get the peach preserve even after the reveal

Color Hue Clarity: deep garnett clear Aroma Bouquet: hints of pepper, coffee Taste Texture Finish Balance: licorice, not fruit forward, medium body, no tannins, dry finish. Overall: 3/5 nothing special, no complexity, the dry finish was unexpected. Alcohol content is high at 14.9%.

Off the list at City Winery. Red and blue fruits on nose and palate. Simple but decent.

Met expectations - a traditional, dry, peppery zinfandel that leans a little more rustic and earthy rather than fruity and boozy.

this is a great Zin -- classic, not jammy.

Nicely integrated dark fruit and spice with a bit of pepper.

From 375ml. Lovely nose of brambly fruit, and perhaps some raspberry/cranberry notes. Balanced wine with good acidity, which hides the high 14.9% abv.
