Narince grapes coming from 18 year old vines planted at the Cotes d'Avanos vineyard in Cappadocia at 900m altitude. Fermented and then aged for 9 months in French oak. Brass in colour showing peculiar wet stone notes out front followed by smoke and then yellow fruit aromas. Oak is also dominant on the palate despite the pure, intense fruit. Mediu weight with bright acidity.

Tasted as part of the 2015 Şarap Tutkunları Tasting in İzmir where I was invited as a guest along with Aslı Odman. The tasting panel included Dilek Caner MW, İsa Bal MS and Ayhan Güleyen. The following tasting note and the relevant score belongs to me only. Brass with yellow highlights. Initially tight displaying floral accents to the yellow fruit and sweet lemon core. Very typical and true to this variety. Mid-weight with a smooth texture. Clean, well made wine.

Renk gözle kolay farkedilen yeşil röflesi de olan orta limon sarısı. Orta aromatik yoğunluğa sahip ön burnu floral notlara eklenen vanilya,stone fruit,hafifçe yeşil kavun ,narenciye kabuğu,mineral,tereyağı,arkada ise armut ,kireç ,silikçe ıhlamur aromaları ile ,çok narin bir yapıda. Orta gövdesi , yağlımsı dokusu ,orta üstü düzeyli asidi ,damakta bıraktığı narenciye ,balmumu ,mineral tatları ile,burunda olduğu gibi aroma yapısı dahil gayet tatmin edici. Fıçı kullanımı başarılı .Orta üstü uzunlukta ılık ,belli belirsiz bir acılığı olan bitimi ile ,temiz yapılmış ancak fazla da kompleksitesi olmayan bir şarap.Önümüzdeki 2-3 yıl içinde içilmesi lazım. 85.50/100 Puan

A business dinner (Restaurant Ulus 29, Istanbul, Turkey): A substantial wine, 14% ABV, fermented and aged in French barriques for nine months on the fine lees. Ripe fruit, citrus and white flowers, creamy palate but not too soft, well-integrated oak, styled like a richer white Burgundy. Very good.
