This wine is drinking much better this year. On the nose, it starts with a bit of burnt oak, blackberry, black currant , On the palette it has dark fruit, black currant, prune and toasty oak. This is a medium body wine, that has a bit of a leathery texture, and a medium finish. As a Gorman FOG member I think I paid around $16 to $20, on the annual discount sale, great QPR Annie and I both though this is an 89 to 90 point wine.

Decanted 2+ hours. Aromas loosen up after the 2 hour mark and show an austere side with notes of toasted oak, forrest blackberry, dark cherry, chocolate, vanilla and dark flowers with hints of spice, toast and espresso. On the palate big, juicy acidity and firm somewhat astringent and sharp tannins. Flavors of underripe blueberry, blackberry, cherry, bittersweet chocolate, oak and a touch of dark flowers and oak. The finish lingers with a slightly bitter note.
Overall seems a little out of whack at the moment, don't know if it is an issue with under-ripe fruit/tannins or just need time. Still a good wine

Soft fruit and the tannins have completely faded. Old World style with a very recognizable Willamette terroir. Drink now.

Last of two bottles. It definitely has turned a corner for the better. Very solid wine and 5 star QPR IMHO.

Solid, not remarkable, but a good solid wine.

Full bodied without being overwhelming.
With pepper steak demonstrated ability to match powerful spice without losing the subtlety to accompany brie later.
Starting to throw a little dusty sediment - standing for a few hours before decanting is in order

Short decant
Still big and bold, a little bottle age is starting to smooth the rough edges.

Progressing but till needs some time; nose redolent of dark forest berries
Aggressive palate; big, fruity with minerals starting to come into balance. Another 6 months or two hour decant

Tannins hard, soft initial feel of black fruit with tannins lingering. Needs 12 months to even out and try again

Very modern. Acid is present; there's a balance issue.
