Drank with a friend as an aperitif. The last of my 6 bottles and it has kept very well. Buttery, with some oak showing, but well balanced. Apples. Very good.

Lightly chilled, opened and poured. It is evident that this chardonnay has kept very well and continues to taste well. Light amber colour. Nose and palate are buttery, with a hint of oak showing, which has surely helped this keep well. Medium bodied, appley, peaches. Good finish. Delightful, but need drinking up soon.

Initially drinking this on it's own whilst watching The Wine Society's chardonnay webinar. Silver / gold colour. A lovely rich nose showing tropical fruit, butter, cream. The palate is wonderfully complex, excellently balanced, peaches and green apples, just a hint of oakiness. Long finish. Clearly this isn't going to be great forever as it's already 7 years from the vintage, so don't keep too long. But at the moment, it's drinking really well.

Aged parcel from the Wine Society. Superb value for money given that this is Rustenbergs standard Chardonnay.
This is in great shape. Bottle age has brought out a lovely nutty note but the purity of the fruit still remains. Tastes like good white Burgundy (south or warm vintage perhaps). Oak perfectly integrated.
Drink now but will probably hold on a while longer.

Jo Locke MW at The Wine Society recommended this in a recent webinar. And it's a great recommendation and a great wine. Beguiling of its vintage, this chardonnay is remarkably fresh and drinking really well at the moment. Drunk to accompany fish paella, poured immediately after opening. Pale gold colour. A complex nose showing tropical fruit, peaches and herbaceous notes. The palate has a great balance of acidity, rich, more tropical fruit, green apples, long finish. Lovely wine, should probably remain this good for another 12 months.

Rich, oaky nose with a hint of tropical fruit. Smooth on the palate, big and oaky. A nice lick of acidity on the finish which balances things out a bit. Overall a little too much oak for me, but a well made wine more in the new world style.

This Chardonnay is made using a blend from 400 barrels and gets exported to 22 different markets around the world: that’s approximately 160,000 bottles of which 98% gets exported; and although seemingly “mass produced” it does not taste that way, in fact the subtle apple with butterscotch, pear and vanilla combining with the acidity and spicy notes on the finish elevate this wine to another level … and you won’t soon forget the creamy mouth-filling finish. Acidity in this wine is attributed to the higher acid Chardonnay clones used in its making.

We had to have a sip of the "other" South African Chardonnay on the wine list at Vivat Bacchus. Transparent with green hues. Served too cold, which deadened the nose a bit. Palate simple but casual citrus and good acidity. A pleasant cocktail party Chardonnay.

No formal notes. Very tasty wine with white fruits like apple and pear and a firm dose of oak. Good and fresh acidity.

Good fruit flavours - apple, pear with a bit of spice. Nicely balanced with a touch of oak. Very enjoyable.

Rien de bien complexe, simple et assez acide. Manque de chair et de fruit. Correct.

Bof, bof, pas vraiment d'intérêt, pourrait être chilien, américain, ou sud-africain, pas de personnalité dans ce chardonnay boisé.

Our first taste of this year's Christmas Chardonnay and whilst this is a perfectly decent wine it is also rather straightforward fruity and fresh
