  • Brickhouse Chardonnays are always classic apples, hazelnuts and spices good balance and texture. I’m always a little let down by them though because their Pinots are such an amazing experience but the Chards are aleays missing an X factor.

  • As previous bottles. Perfectly well made, just a bit bland and soulless. **1/2

  • Straw in appearance, aromas of wet chalk, honey, cream, and apples. In the mouth, the wine has a stony feel to it. Still very taught with fruit acid. The wine comes of creamy, but the same time is very light in the mouth. Flavors of lemon, cream, and apples. Very well balanced, a refreshing detour from the California chardonnays I've been hammering away at recently.
I think this would be really interesting to see in the next few years as it still seems very youthful now.

  • Big spicy notes with toasted nuts, orange blossoms, honeyed fruit and bitter fruit pith. Viscous palate that became more balanced over 4 days.

  • It's that good. Inviting and open yet showing great balance and earthiness. It should develop over the next several years. 90-91.

  • A beautifully focused and delightful wine. Plenty of varietal characteristics backed by strong notes of bio-dynamically farmed fruit. Great acid, bold yet restrained mouthfeel, generous, and long. Interesting and enjoyable.

  • Similar to previous bottle. There's a hint of richness, but also a good streak of minerality. Something in the flavour profile that doesn't quite agree with me — slightly off-putting almost medicinal edge that reminds me of something in the Viognier to Pinot Gris spectrum; can't quite out my finger on it. Two thirds of the bottle stoppered and left in fridge for 48hrs. The element I didn't like has lifted and this feels more elegant and crisper/cleaner; far more drinkable in a relatively neutral way. Ok, but... **1/2

  • Mid to full straw. Curious one this; quite full without being rich, and some hints if mineral grip before it relaxes again and seems a touch flabby. Neither here nor there. May be suffering from not getting a chance to rest as opened on the evening it was delivered. Will reserve judgement, but this showing no better than **1/2. Nothing actually wrong with it, but very much in the why bother camp at the moment.
