Drank in Cassis and in Brooklyn, of all places. Far more expensive (for each available vintage) in the U.S. than in France. I'm talking two to three times more. Great wine with shellfish. I think the 2003 was better than the 2004 or 2006. Comparable: Billy Wagner.

Apricot and melon, white floral nose that is restrained and not too perfumey. Leans toward the round rich side of Southern whites but with suprisingly good acidity for 2003. Very good with grilled silver salmon with a dill cucumber ginger sauce. Probably best to drink this sooner as it is very pretty now but I don't think it will improve by further ageing.

Served at room temperature -- disjointed, ripe with somewhat harsh notes on finish. Returned to refrigerator. 30 minutes later -- slight nose of tonic water, a touch of white flowers, lime, salty/mineral. More floral on the palate with ripe white/yellow fruits, nice light weight, nice minerality, finishes with a pleasantly tart note.

I had no idea that the little fishing village of Cassis made such a tasty white wine. I passed by the winery without stopping, but ordered from the menu later that same night in Marseille (Perron restuarant). What a delicious, light white wine that stood up to the savory bouillabase. How I wish I had visited the source!
