PNP at Nanea. Closed nose, this took a lot of swirling to reveal some stone fruits and chalky spice on the nose. Clean palate, seemed simple and pleasant but was not very giving. I suspect these need a lot more time. Tonight I preferred the 11 Mont Mains, as it was more open and giving.

Off restaurant list. A good start here, even when the 2015 was not quite at the heights of the 2012 (97pt) we had a few months back, Raveneau delivered. Initially a bit closed, but opened up a lot and showed lemon curd, oak spice, buttery elements, almost like a Chassagne rather than Chablis but always deep, complex with a refreshing finish.

Decanted and served with wild sea bass (at Chateau de Courcelles). Very 'classy' wine with an unobtrusive yet distinctly refined appearance. Gorgeous hints of citrus and green apples throughout.

A private dinner (Restaurant La Biche au Bois, Paris, France): Inimitable Raveneau style, powerful but elegant, perfect weight, great energy, depth and lift, lemon cream and oyster shells, wonderful floral lift, great resonance and length. A great Blanchot.

No notes taken. Needed time to open up. After 40 minutes in the glass it showed very nice citrus, lime, hints of green apple and some limestone (?) minerality. All well delineated. Fresh, with a round but not piercing acidity, a touch of extra creaminess but nothing too extreme. Good balance but without the substance to truly excite. 93 pts.

A little fat and chubby - still a lovely wine that I would drink quite soon and serve a little cooler than usually.
