This has aged beautifully. Decanted over cocktails and drank over two hours. Silky tannins. It evolved nicely, starting with gentle balance and putting on weight over dinner. A little of that gorgeous To-Kalon fruit was left and the finish was very long throughout, picking up notes of chocolate and leather over time. I would be curious to compare this with how it drank in its youth but it's drinking very well now and I don't imagine it will get any better.

Finesse style of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a floral, black cherry, smoke, licorice and cocoa character. There is no reason to age this supple wine any longer.

One of the last Schraders that I have that have a wax capsule. I hate wines with wax capsules. Decanted for 2 hours. Started out a little tight and acidic. Smoothed ut with time. Still very young. Dark ruby color, no bricking at the edges. Not an overly powerful wine, but built with elegance. The nose starts with black currant, loads of spice, cedar, flowers and blueberries. Dense and concentrated on the palate. Starts with black current, blueberry, anise, spice and vanilla. The tannins have softened and smooth, leading to a long finish. Drinking really well now. I don't know that it will improve with time, but will easily hold for years.

Taste from nice guest at Farmhouse EV. Gorgeous Schrader elegance and styling. Loads of spice, fresh new leather, dirt road and dark black cherries. The palate is gorgeous and shows enormous amount of extraction. So big yet still caressing and in harmony. Limited notes but so so tasty.

We drank this with a 96 Les Pavot and while both were outstanding, this was better Great balance and depth of flavor. Fantastic California Cabernet. One of the top 10 CA Cabs I have had.

Root 246 Dinner (Root 246, Solvang, California): Opened and glass decanted one hour before serving. Followed over another 1-2 hours. Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Lovely nose of violets, berries, cherries, leather and plums. Flavors of dark berries, cherries, plums and currants. Medium acidity, medium tannins. full bodied. Drink with some air time or continue to hold. It's in the drinking window now. 94-95+?

2 hour decant. Medium body. Red fruit. Lighter than the other Schrader family cabs, less density and richness. Decent balance. RBS is my least favorite.

The endless layers of deep, rich, ripe, plush black and blue fruit along with the fat, silky textures grabbed your attention and kept it there. This is drinking perfect today.

Developing a lot of secondary nuance in middle age. Earthy, interesting. Not your run of the mill Cali cab.
