Decanted for about an hour before sipping commenced with a cheese board. Really nice after decanting, but be aware that there is a window of prime drinking. The last of the wine was consumed at about 5+ hours and it had turned to sour cherries. Don't be turned off by this, it's drinking great. Just be sure to enjoy after 1 hour and before ~4 hours.

This bottle is quite advanced. A bit of dark cherry and tar on the nose. Mostly tar, oak, and some cassis on the palate with penetrating, dusty tannin - a bit advanced for my liking, but an interesting specimen, nonetheless.

Drank on anniversary. Still drinking extremely well - this actually was the best bottle so far.
Sweet tobacco, cherry (very young), red currants on nose. Full body, medium acidity, medium+ tannins and very long finish. Fruit was still young on palate - red currants, black cherry, cranberry + sweet tobacco and dirt. 94+/-
Given this showing, will buy more recent vintages from this producer.

Modern style, oaky and ripe. Nice dark cherry fruit on the nose, some hints of asphalt and marachino. Ripe, dark cherry on the palate, vanilla, toasted french oak, cassis, dusty mouthfilling tannins. Nice bordeaux quaffer. Would work well with grilled steak.

Double decanted 2 hours prior. As expected too young. Tannic but acids and mineral present good acidity. Definitely a good wine. Fruits started coming through with swirling. Cassis, blackberry and some florals. Revisit in 2-4 years.

Great nose of cassis, sweet vanilla oak and black cherry. Soft well integrated tannins on the front are slightly rough and drying on the back. Elegant mouthfeel with toasty sweet vanilla oak, black cherry and a sweet cassis or possibly raspberry follows to medium rough tannins and medium finish. This wine will evolve and would like to come back to it in 3 - 5 years.

Wow, this was different from my previous bottle. Medium-to-full bodied, not hollow at the center at all, this showed nice fruit, graphite, smooth tannins, and stayed drinkable over several days. Just a hint of brett that below off within an hour or so. Now I wish I had more.

I was pleasantly surprised tonight with this bottle. Popped and poured. Modern styled bordeaux, blind i would have thought new world and probably california. Oaky vanilla notes right off the bat instead of the cedary notes of bordeaux. The oaky notes blew off quickly. Blueberry and blackberry fruits, smoky notes a bit of mesquite. Well balanced with some acidity and tannins that were not overpowering. Felt young. This is just entering its drinking window.

Really enjoyed this - modern for Bordeaux. Decanted for 1.5 hours and it improved substantially with airtime. This bottle seemed younger than my last bottle enjoyed in 9/2012. Dark red color, mint, coffee grinds, red currants, black cherry on nose & palate. Full body, nice acidity, sweet tannins and very long finish. 93+ Really enjoyed this and compared to last bottle I enjoyed, I would say this is now in it's peak window. 93+ Would buy again.

Loved the 2003 vintage of this wine and picked up some of the '05 and '09 also. My score of 91 is for the second night. This needs serious air at least at this point. The first night it was fine but had a little brett. Night 2, after transferring to a smaller bottle, it was luscious. Some prunes, blueberry, espresso and a medium finish. Will wait a while to open more of these and a long time for the '09. Based on the fact that my last bottle of the '03 was still great in '13, I think this will go to 2020.

This was a little odd -- I couldn't tell if it was a flawed bottle or simply not as good as I'd hoped. Aromas and flavors of pencil lead, black cherry, and some oak. Soft, supple, and easy drinking; just not all that interesting.

Lots of plum, cocoa, earth and sweet cherries, round textures, medium body and a soft, easy to drink, black cherry finish in this wine. I think this marks the debut vintage for Stephane Derenoncourt as the consultant.

Very disappointing for the $30 community price. Beautiful dark color, and a little pencil lead, but this was hollow in the middle -- tasted like watered down wine, and no finish. I'm not sure I've ever had a US wine that was this uninspired at this price point.

brick red in the glass. excellent bouquet of plum and cherry. jammy medium body with firm tannins. lots of plum and raspberry with leather and earth. round mouth feel with good acidity and a long smooth finish. still a bit tight, even after two hours of decanting it was still improving. still a bit young and will age beautifully for 5-10 years.

Beautiful wine. Medium garnet color. Medium cherry nose with vanilla and light oak. Dried cherry and plum wrapped in soft tannins with some baking spice on the finish. Great balance. Medium plus finish. Decanted for 30 minutes prior to serving with roasted rack of lamb. Loved the match. Although I think the wine can continue to benefit from some aging, I see no need to wait at this point.

I bought a couple based on price and the fact it was reported that they had dialed back the oakiness. Well, hard to tell from this bottle. Big in your face vanilla and toast, big sweet fruit, big but ripe tannins. Bordeaux in the guise of warm climate Shiraz. Fairly low acid, but I wouldn't call flabby. Fruit is black plum and blackberry, but somewhat dominated by the oak. I'll put other away in hopes it integrates with age, but for me now, B-/C+ (I think other more fond of oak would like much more).
